WORST PUB EVER DO NOT GO In my 10 years of hospitality have I never ever seen a pub run so poorly. I understand being short staffed however I was disgraced by their attitudes. We were told we would have to wait 45 minutes for food and we were happy to wait we sat down ordered a few drinks an hour had past and new people had come in to the pub another 45 minutes later those people were receiving there food and we were still yet to receive ours, other tables orders were wrong they sold people things that were sold out as we were still waiting I tried to speak to the male working there and he told me to stop being rude as they were short staffed I was not being rude I was asking where our food was never would I be rude as a hospitality worker myself, 2 hours later still no food went to get a refund as nothing was being done about it and they couldn’t even find our order was not refunded the whole amount, I will not ever be returning to this pub again absolute disgrace and a sad shame for a small...
Read moreIt's a great location, on the main road between Mansfield and Seymour, so there's a lot of people that pass by. Close to lake Eildon, Bonnie Doon, on the way to the snow fields and it's conveniently situated in the centre of the Yarck CBD 😏 (population 194 and a dog name Buster 🐺) not to mention down the road from home. It's also a great spot to drop in for a meal if you're going for a bike ride along the rail trail or exploring the local sites. I like the relaxed atmosphere and have taken a number of my friends there for a few drinks and a meal which is always tasty. Speaking of poison, the cocktail slushie machine is magnificent and it's easy to have a few too many of those. 🍹 There are also a couple of great local shops nearby with magnificent coffee, produce and gifts. So call in and enjoy another beautiful little country town and treat...
Read moreWe dined at the Yarck Hotel for dinner recently and it was all a bit of a shamozzle... They had forgotten about our booking so had to pull table together and sat our kids at a separate table. The menu is quite expensive, and it was explained that the food is locally sourced. However the meals all come with freezer chips and the 'salad' appeared to be straight out of a bag. A number of us had lamb cutlets, they are $42 and there were only 3 cutlets with some freezer chips and the cutlets had little meat, and a lot of fat on them. A number of orders were wrong, or completely missed, steaks were undercooked and the kids meals all came out last. As mentioned by another reviewer there are young kids behind the bar, and at one point one member of our booking went to order a wine and was told she could pour it herself! The meals were extremely expensive for what you got, and given the pub is in a small town, I am not sure that they will get much patronage...
