Golden Recipes — Restaurant in Wagga Wagga City Council

Visiting from Melbourne for the weekend, #roadtrip, staying at a nearby hotel.

Completely clueless when it came to local eateries on a Sunday night, where the town was so dead I thought perhaps there had been a Zombie apocalypse and no one had told us. Anyway, driving on a darkish road noticed the Golden Recipes sign was lit up, so a quick stop, a little nervous to take a chance on country Chinese, but had a craving, so gave it a go. Glad I did. Ordered combination rice - pretty good Lemon chicken- pretty good Satay skewers - entree - good, excellent sauce

The server was lovely, and whilst I was getting takeaway- hot tip: if you are planning on Dining in, bring a very warm jacket, it was actually colder inside that outside. However- the restaurant was clean, spacious, and well set up, although some ambient music would have been a nice touch.

Def 5 overall - with the caveat that Its Wagga Wagga, not China town in Melbourne. Therefore adjust your expectations, and you will be more than satisfied with your dining experience. Ps. LOVE the takeout box- sorry didn’t pic...

Food took forever to come to the table, we asked approx 30 mins into the service how long it would take and were told 30-40 minutes, 2 mins later the food arrived cold. Was taken away and re heated, flavor was there but the experience was poor.

I dont think the left hand is talking to the right hand in this place. Apparently are licensed but the "chef" has to bring you the drinks.... strange!

Wait staff seemed rushed and flustered.

We may have got them on a bad night as overall the place seems to rate quite well.

Must do a big take away trade, some people seemed to be waiting forever, others...

Brought plum duck tonight and prawn toast with dipping sauce plus special fried rice... first fried riced dose not and should not have pineapple thanks for the two prawns 🙄 second please put your lids on properly that was a mess that was a nightmare and thirdly I wish I could post it’s picture but my duck was grey it was all bone and was boiled? Really really wish I went somewhere else that wasn’t worth the $$$ I spent there tonight and I couldn’t take it back as you shut...
