Avoka — Restaurant in Western Australia

Went for a meal with 2 friends on Friday, booked table for 7pm. Nice atmosphere, quite busy. Had seen the new chicken parmi special advertised on Facebook, so I persuaded my friends to come here instead of the woodvale tavern. Friendly staff, attentive, we ordered cheesy garlic bread ( was lovely) and mini calamari ( soggy and flavourless) as starters. All 3 of us ordered the chicken parmi special ($20 which includes a drink also) Picture on Facebook of meal looked amazing ! Chicken chips and homemade coleslaw, our meals arrive, no coleslaw, we ask wheres the coleslaw, we are informed one week is green salad one week is slaw! I saw advert that day and it had slaw. Huge chicken portion, small piece ham with small cheese melted, ham had curled up and was a tad dry, it was on getting to centre of chicken did I find the napolitana sauce. My fiancé, our 2 year old and I took a walk down to this cafe this morning for breakfast and a coffee. I had the açai bowl which was tasty and very filling. My fiancé had the veggie wrap which is honestly one of the best breakfast wraps we have both had the ingredients were so fresh and tasty, the mushrooms nice and chunky and perfectly cooked! My picky 2 year old loved his hash browns too. Coffees were delicious and the perfect strength with the extra shot. The service was fantastic all staff were so friendly and helpful. A local who has frequented Avoka since it opened. It was always good but with the change of ownership some of the adjustments are missing the mark from my point of view. Not sure if this is because of a change in suppliers but the quality has dropped off even though prices have gone up. I'll still go back as it's my local, but probably not the weekly trip as I have done.
