This is the best lunch bar that I know for the food variety, the place presentation and their customer service.
First time visitor, the lunch bar is located in commercial area and it looks like other lunch bar at other places, with some differences.
As I walked entering the place, I was being welcomed by a live guitar music and the smell of the meats being grilled on a coal.
There was a little queue which became longer after I made my order. The place is very well presented, very bright and clean.
I straight away saw the fried chicken, satay and spare ribs and they will make you want to try everything.
I ordered pork belly banh mi, friend chicken, each of the satay and char-grilled BBQ spare ribs.
The fried chicken is sooo tender and crispy, make me want to have another bite and another. The marinated satay grilled on coal gives that truly deep flavour.
Love the banhmi, there were many to choose from for the filling and made freshly.
The char-grilled BBQ spare rib is tender and flavoursome as it's grilled on coals too, the soft bone of the rib is crunchy and easy to eat.
You'll pay a little bit more here but you'll find your money is well-spent here.
If I have to give a suggestion is there are not enough space for everyone to sit down, but hey it's a lunch bar after all. my family and friends improvised our lunch by having them at the car park between our cars with the boots opened up to cover from the sun. Having a lovely time enjoying the delicious foods.
As a family business, their customer service is superb, even when there were people waiting in a long line, they pay attention to our order, not trying to rush to clear the queue.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with Bibra Lake Lunch Bar and definitely will make more visits, now that I don't need to do long driving to the north of the river to get...
Read moreI’ve been reluctant to pen this review, folks. Not for lack of praise, mind you. I’ve been wary of the inevitable tsunami of food lovers that would descend on Bilbra Lake once the secret got out. But, alas, the cat’s out of the bag.
It’s the Bahn Mi that’s caused my hesitation. Yes, a sandwich. But not just any sandwich. A sandwich that has taken my taste buds on a rollercoaster ride through flavor town, a ride I wish to never disembark from. This Bahn Mi has officially become my benchmark for all sandwiches, not just Vietnamese ones.
The bread has an uncanny ability to make you wonder if it descended directly from the heavens, fluffy yet boasting a crust with just the right amount of crunch. The pickled veggies and spicy mayo meld into a vibrant party of sweet, sour, and spicy that’s just tantalizing.
But the real star of the show? The fried chicken. It’s the Fabio of fried foods, the pinnacle of poultry perfection. Each bite of this crunchy, juicy, delectable chicken is like winning a gustatory lottery. You will never eat fried chicken from anywhere else after, this is the benchmark.
With this review, I might have just jeopardized my quiet fried chicken feasts. But the world needs to know. So, regardless of your mode of transportation, make the pilgrimage to Bilbra Lake. There’s a Bahn Mi here that’s sure to make your taste buds sing. Be ready to shout “Get...
Read moreRight, Bibra Lake Lunch Bar, we need to have a serious chat. That pork belly Bahn mi with chilli – what was that? The sauce was like a hidden treasure, only found in the middle, and when you did find it, it was like striking oil. And coriander? It’s a Bahn mi, not a herb bouquet. I shouldn’t have to navigate through a jungle of coriander to find my pork. And the bread – it’s supposed to be a delight, not a fight. It’s a sandwich, not a sparring partner. Now, the grilled chicken and rice – the chicken had some kick, some excitement, it was the star of the show. But those veggies? They were like the invisible man – there but not really contributing anything. They’re supposed to complement the dish, not just sit there like a lump of coal. I understand the place is popular, and a long wait can be a sign of good food. But waiting that long? People have places to be, lives to live. You can’t have them standing around like they’re waiting for a bus that never comes. Overall, it’s a generous 3 out of 5. There’s potential, but it’s like an engine that’s not quite running smoothly. Fine-tune the sauce distribution, cut back on the coriander, give those veggies some zest, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll have a winning dish. Until then, it’s back to the...
