UPDATE: We decided to keep our booking and give it another go, the kids had been begging for us to go back to check out the awesome playground. Well im glad we did in the end. As soon as we arrived for our booking, the lady checking us in said she was made aware of our last visit and apologised to us for that, then let us know we would be receiving a very generous 40% off our total bill. After she took us over to over to our table, another lady came over to deeply apologise and let us know that the original girl who served us last time no longer works there and that the owners of the venue were also disappointed and saw our review also. Throughout our time there, we were well taken care of and the staff were very accommodating to us and our children. We were able to move tables as it was raining over our original spot, we were constantly offered drinks and apologised to again. We usually don't like to make a fuss, but the way we were spoken to last time left us quite upset. This next visit we felt heard and the staff went above and beyond to make us happy to wich we deeply appreciate, thank you. We loved to hear that the owners are very involved and hands on, learning and improving where they can. The playground area was definitely amazing and the kids can't wait to be back (we are wanting to make a regular outing here) and our food was great with only 2 minor issues. The ribs and tacos were a stand out for me - absolutely delicious and melt in the mouth! I know what I'll be getting next time. Thank you again for making our next visit a positive experience, our son said he wants to have his birthday lunch here in November and that his burger was the best ever! (He is very hard to please). We will be sure to see you again soon! :)

RUDE STAFF

We drove 30+ minutes to take the kids out for lunch. We arrived at 12pm only to be told that they were full and don't take walk ins until 1pm or We could be booked in for 1pm instead as we and the kids were quite surprised to be turned away. We were visibly upset and frustrated so we were also offered to walk in and let the kids play but said we couldn't be seated until later. as we were about to walk in, another lady stepped over and rudely told us no we we could not enter and no they cannot book us in and that we had to book online ourselves. We got back into the car and went to book online but the next available time wasn't until 2:30pm, so we called them and asked if they are still taking walk ins at 1pm or would we have to wait until the 2:30 spot. The lady on the phone said we don't actually take walk ins at 1pm any ways it's only after 2pm so of we just came back at that time then we would have been turned away again. We do understand they say bookings are highly recommended, but after this experience I'd say it's not recommended, it's compulsory and as if they don't want anything to do with you if you don't have a booking already. Very disappointed. We did decide to just book ahead for the following weekend, so will see how that...

Pleasantly surprised on our arrival, walking past what appeared to be a well equipped and immaculate looking gymnasium and squash courts, this prior to entering the kiddies play park and restaurant area to the rear.

My first impressions were not so positive, with two young children (aged 2 years and 6 weeks) with us, it was clear even though the place was not particularly busy, that table cleanliness and hygiene was sub par. All three high chairs available to use near our table were absolutely filthy (some “not my job” parents clearly to blame here I suspect, but the staff should still attend to cleaning and disinfecting after each use) thus the first 5 minutes of our visit saw us donate a dozen or so wet wipes and some elbow grease to the cause, to clean off our selected high chair - the best of the bunch - and our own table surface.

The floor area around the tables were also really grubby, stained with sauces and stains left by dropped and discarded food, although we had a giggle at the team of opportunistic magpies who clearly make light work of removing the actual food waste!

We ordered lagers (note: drinks are served in plastic tumblers, presumably on safety grounds) chicken and beef burgers with fries all of which was served promptly by a friendly member of the team. The food quality and portion sizes were decent, albeit the fries were served lukewarm.

The music was awful. The selection of boy / girl band tunes was absolutely horrendous and it varied between being belted out at high volume from what seemed to be all available speakers to regularly losing connectivity, crackling and disappearing and resulting in a whisper of sound that seemed to be emanating from one distant speaker.

And then blasting out from all the speakers.

And then one.

And then them all etc etc etc.

Aaaarghhh! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

A quick foray into the play park followed and yes, it seems popular with the kids (and watching parents) for sure, but again some improvements on the housekeeping front is needed. There is far too much detritus on top and just under the surface of the sand…..sweet wrappers, wipes, tissues etc. considering that a twice daily tidy up would only take 20 minutes or so, there’s no excuse really.

In summary, it’s OK, a well thought out concept serving half decent food and offering a convenient and fun destination for the kids, but for our party, the overall cleanliness and hygiene was a concern. Which means we probably...

Strange concept but it works: Pub style Restaurant in a gym.

The menu is Mexican theme now. But pizza burgers steak, think Fried fast foods.

Sunday Lunch on a sunny winters day. Chaos! So many kids! Outdoor area full, had to eat inside. Not great with sensory teens... The sound echoed on high ceiling. Earbuds a must. But still available seating.

This place has a great concept but needs finessing.

We ordered for the 4 tweens: quickly before lunch line became long. They carry Pepsi line in fountain drink and coke canned products.

The Pizza came out in 25mins. All kids were happy with basic ham Or cheese style pizzas. No complaints! 1 kid though...ordered a Smash burger & took 45mins+ from the kitchen. (They were smashed: pun intended).

Adults ordered @table with QR code as line was 10 people deep. Our meal came 30mins later. It was more efficient ordering BUT does NOT ALLOW MODIFICATIONS TO MEALS. Personally it lacks engagement. Pulled pork burger... Big and happy customer. Chicken wings are giant... Where does this bird come from? Parmy was soggy but generous on toppings. Beef nachos tasty meat sauce and generous toppings.. but shame it was canned nacho cheese sauce.

NOT FODMAP FRIENDLY. Can customise your order somewhat at counter. Has vegetarian options.

Pros: *Small kids will enjoy playground (3-7). Sooo many kids on Sunday. Overwhelming. *Jumping pillow would have been suited to our 4 bigger kids (8-12) but wasn't inflated. *Great concept

Cons: *We drove 1 hour to get here to keep 4 tweens off devices. Website said nothing about bounce pillow being out of service. 😱 *Tables inside were wobbly and spilled 2 beers with kids being kids. *Very loud inside. *Not enough staff to provide service. Staff are busy and hard to get their attention. 1 server helped with marrying our table swap to our food being delivered.

Observation: you walk through the gyms main entrance to get to the bar and grill. Put me off ordering the fast food and beer!

Prices: average to a high. Can't comment on steak value today.

Been here 1x before. It lacks something. My rating: ok. Needs fine...

Roar Bar & Grill: A Family-Friendly Haven with Delicious Food and Fun for All Ages Roar Bar & Grill, nestled near Bibra Lake, is a fantastic destination for families seeking a fun and relaxing dining experience. The highlight of this establishment is undoubtedly its expansive outdoor play area, which boasts a variety of activities to keep kids entertained for hours. From climbing structures to slides and swings, there's something for every child to enjoy. Parents can rest easy knowing their little ones are having a blast while they savor a delicious meal or enjoy a refreshing drink. The restaurant offers ample seating both indoors and outdoors, catering to different preferences and weather conditions. The menu at Roar Bar & Grill is diverse, with a wide selection of options for both adults and children. Their pizzas are a particular highlight, boasting fresh toppings and a perfectly crispy crust. For the little ones, there's a dedicated kids' menu featuring classic favorites sure to please even the pickiest eaters. To enhance convenience, Roar Bar & Grill offers table service and QR code ordering, eliminating the need to wait in line and allowing you to focus on enjoying your time with family and friends. While the service can be a bit slow at times, especially during peak hours or when the weather is pleasant, the overall experience at Roar Bar & Grill is overwhelmingly positive. It's a place where families can come together, create lasting memories, and enjoy delicious food in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends or during sunny days, to ensure you secure a table and avoid any potential wait times.

Playground for kids is great. Coffee ordered online with meals was delivered within minutes (too early!), but was small for a large size and only luke warm. Burgers presented nicely, although in plastic baskets. Were reasonable size, but not much flavour. The shortfall was made up for with lots of chips(fries), which were not over salted, but were overcooked. Overpriced at $25ea. Kids sliders were very small and no drink included, but chips were cooked well with a serve of tomato sauce. Again, overpriced at $11ea. Grill’d serves much better burgers. Can’t comment on the pizzas coz based on other reviews, wasn’t prepared to gamble with the wait while others at our table were served and finished their meal. Few healthy meal options offered aside from a couple of basic salads. No healthy options for kids at all. Other issues: sold out of several drink options, really only tap beer and cider and bottled wine available. Visited on a fairly busy Saturday for lunch. 2 stars for playground and speedy polite service from staff. Will return for the kids to play but not the food.

Updated review TLDR- pros; new management, good food, great playground cons; no salad menu This place is under new management. They seem to have changed the menu, and the staff. Quality of the food is much better, but in my opinion, a bigger menu wouldnt hurt. Lots of options for pizza or burgers and the nourish bowls look nice, but id prefer a salad selection too. Last week we got a couple of burgers that were quite nice (hubby loved his monstrous burger, my chicken burger was nice), this week we got the managers special of pork belly bites ($21 for 4 big bites) and they were melt in your mouth amazing, a shame they aren't actually on the menu as I would order every time. All in all, a nice experience and am happy to be coming back to eat here again. Eta: pork belly bites are on the menu, had them a few times now since, and unfortunately have been very very oily
