Big Loaf Bakery in O'Connor, WA, has elevated its game with a recently upgraded shopfront, expanding their offerings without losing the beloved favorites regulars rely on. The sleek new setup adds to the bakery’s charm, attracting locals and visitors alike. It’s clearly a popular spot, especially on weekends, when the place tends to get pretty full. Thankfully, the staff are efficient and friendly, managing to keep the flow of customers moving with minimal fuss, making the wait worthwhile.
The highlight here is undoubtedly the exceptional selection of artisan breads and pastries. From classic sourdoughs to inventive new creations, there’s something for every taste. Among their offerings, the Gorgonzola and mushroom tart stands out as a showstopper – it’s genuinely the best I’ve tried, with the rich, creamy filling perfectly balancing savory notes and melt-in-your-mouth pastry. For those looking for more than just bakery fare, Big Loaf also has a good range of take-home meals, ideal for families and busy people wanting quality meals without the effort.
One quirk of Big Loaf is its ordering process. Customers are encouraged to browse across the huge selection, but then need to remember everything and head to the register to place their order. This setup, while unique, can make it challenging to keep track of what you want, especially with so many tempting choices on display. Despite this minor inconvenience, Big Loaf Bakery offers a fantastic experience with its top-tier products and...
Read more(Review as a former worker) You'll find the best cinny scrolls here, standard quality cafe crossaints sourdoughs and other loaf varieties including authentic twisted tipped baguettes (but you may have to order them 1 day in advance, otherwise you will get standard rounded tipped baguettes). They have "sister" cafes that big loaf factory delivers to, plus other quality restaraunts including frasers restaraunt in kings park. Coffee selection is their weak point, it's honestly on the meh side, you're probably better off going elsewhere for quality coffee but the bread is definitely worth it even if its expensive.
Actually worked for these folks for morning deliveries and honestly was one of my most fun jobs I've ever done. Interesting workplace, kitchen area is extremely hot in the mornings (even when its like 2 degrees outside). I actually got fired because I honestly wasn't the most efficient with my medical disorders especially with the pain of my own sweat getting into my eyes while the baguettes are cooking in the ovens, I did enjoy it enough I even started half an hour early and will still visit these guys if I'm in the area as a customer because they make really nice bread and are generally...
Read moreHi Guys, big fan of your Italian loaf - plain, no seeds - but often when I rock up to the store on Carrington Street it's sold out! This is you signature bread, by far the best product you have and yet often over the years it's run out before 7am, usually accompanied by some lame excuse ... someone ordered more, or the one I love, "it got burnt". Yet you never seem to run out of ancient grains or Cottesloe sourdough or some Egyptian sprouted seed or Ethiopian mud bread ... really?? Why can't you just up the production of the plain Italian and don't slice it...us Mediterraneans like our bread white, crusty and thick not mean slices. This was never a problem while you supplied the Grocer and Chef but they stopped getting the bread after you lifted the price. I can still buy it at carrington St for $7.50 (if I'm there at 6.01). G&C stopped getting it after you raised the price! Good on them because I saw it in Kakulas Sister for $8.50. At that price I'll but Bread in Common's sourdough any day. You probably don't give a toss but I've been loyal to you guys since the early North St days and you Italian bread is a winner. Pls...
