As much as, we enjoyed other RAC resort. We alway get welcome at arrival. RAC resort staff gave us a wonderful welcome at arrival, full support plus giving us great service.
However, we are really disappointed with the service at BOUGHSHED restaurant. The receptionist lady book us table at 6pm ( 4 adults and 5 children) . We arrived early , manager restaurant - CHLOE HICKFORD - was so mean and rude.
We asked kindly that any chance that we could order at 5:30pm when the kitchen is opened - just for kids. Because they're very hungry. We understand that the restaurant is always busy. So we just want to make sure the kids are happy and full , adults can wait for order.
The manager - CHLOE - talk us we not allowed to ordered until 6pm and they will not serve us until then. We have to ask a few other staff to check with chefs if they could cook kids dinner.
The service at bar staff also unprofessional and not well trained. We ordered 2 Lemmon and lime bitter, the bar girl could not understand and do not know what size they have to serve when asked. She did not give number, I asked my coffee in take away cup, she did not put in and other staff blame that I did not tell them.
Other restaurant staff - LINN and SOBIAN are great services. Monkey Bar staff are excellent service. Great on food and fast.
Food are average, just as much as same with pub food.
Recommend to have a seat indoor from September( Too many moths, keeping landing in the food)
Hopefully the restaurant and bar staff at BOUGHSHED will get better trained. So customers can get full great experience while they stay at RAC...
Read moreThe Boughshed restaurant deserves a special mention for its long queues, hefty prices and awful food. Think of a roadhouse menu but with smaller serves of chips, and an ambience to match (right down to the dusty fake potted palms). Dress code seems to be tracksuit pants and 'going out' ugg boots. Also worth a mention are the flocks of crows that are left to freely roam the dining tables. A sad breakfast of eggs benedict consists of a cold sliver of smoked salmon with a cold poached egg dumped on a piece of dry unbuttered toast and smothered with masterfoods hollandaise, no garnish. You'll be too busy fighting off the crows to care. For dinner I was served a dish of unintentionally raw prawns wrapped in pancetta, followed by a fifty buck scotch fillet, yep fifty, also somehow served completely raw but ordered MR, maybe the grill was broken that night? I'll eat a blue steak when it's a decent cut but this bleeding lump of gristle and sinew could've been scraped off the side of the NW Coastal Highway. Presentation consisted of congealed gravox and potato cubes, not a garnish in sight. The 'chef', rocking a backwards truckers cap, had possibly completed his apprenticeship in a nursing home. Instead of an apology or a refund from mamagement, (and seemingly unpertubed by potentially negative reviews), I was actually charged for another plate of (cooked) prawns..and given a glass of unnamed sparkling. Yay. The only positive is the motley crew of cheery backpackers serving the tables.. If you come here expecting the prices to match the cuisine,...
Read moreWhen booking we were greeted rudely via the phone and was abruptly hung up by the person on the other end of the call when we were trying to ask a question. Upon arrival we were guided towards our seats and were not given menus and water after asking for it for more than two times. It didn't seem busy when we went there as there was plenty of seats to sit at. I had the Pitch Black Angus Eye Fillet which was given to me at a reasonable time, the problem was the price and the quality I was given. I asked for medium rare and upon cutting it I received a well done steak. I asked one of the waitress for another one for me to get served another well done steak with the exact same plate used on the last steak. I couldn't be bothered asking for the second time since they couldn't get it right before. If this was a 30$ priced steak I can understand why but this was a $40+ steak given its price I was expecting a steak to hold up its value. I normally don't write a review but considering the things I experienced I think I should give my experience at this place. Travellers/visitors at the RAC park or near it thinking to eat here, read the reviews first before coming as every dish is at least 25$ and above. I suggest not to order the steak unless you like it well done apart from that all the other dishes seem to look alright. I hope the owner reading this can consider my points of criticism and can bring change either by 1. lowering the price of the steak or 2. getting the steak...
