I just had the most disgusting experience at this Hungry Jacks store tonight.
I placed a $90 order worth of food for my younger siblings and nephew to have dinner. but when the order was delivered, we only got their drinks and dessert, completely missing the main meals (burgers and fries). When trying to sort out this mess, we first had to find the correct store, where they told us that the order had been made but the delivery driver had left the meal at the store. There was no phone call or notification about this. We then requested that the order be remade and delivered. They agreed to remake the order and promised to give us some food vouchers as an apology for the mistake but told us that we would have to make the trip to the store to collect our order. What was the point of paying the $8 delivery fee, then?
My nephew and I ended up having to take a taxi to the store because everyone with a valid license had been drinking this evening. The state of the store was filthy. It made me question the sanitation of the food and the sanitation of the people making and handling the food. not to mention its extremely poor presentation. I'm glad my stepdad didn't order anything because, as a recovering cancer patient, I'm sure that if he had consumed any, it would have surely affected his already weakened immune system and caused serious harm to his health.
We were left waiting at the front counter for 15 minutes while the employees avoided us, and the manager hid away out of sight in the back. While waiting, we could see a bag sitting on one of the benches in the back. When we were finally served, we told the employee who we were, and they immediately recognized us and apologized. The manager still hadn't come to talk with us, leaving her employee to give us our food and apologize to us for the mistake. The bag the employee gave us was the bag waiting on the bench from before we had come into the store. Before leaving the store, we double-checked that the order was correct. when we noticed that the burgers were barely lukewarm, and the fries were stone cold and stale. That's when we realized that this was the original order from over an hour ago.
My nephew and I went back up to the counter to ask for a newly made order like they had promised us, to which the manager, who had been avoiding us, then yelled aggressively from across their kitchen in the back that it was a "new order". However, my nephew confronted her by telling her to eat one of the fries and still tell us that it's new. She then had an employee make us new fries and went off somewhere in the back again. That was the only interaction we had with the manager while in the store; we did not get the vouchers they promised as compensation, and they didn't remake any of the burgers. We left the store before my nephew could get any more upset, and we still had the taxi waiting for us.
The taxi ended up costing us $40 for the trip there, the wait, and the trip back. Once home, my siblings and nephew couldn't take two bites out of their burgers before throwing them out. They all complained about the burgers being soggy, stale, and not made correctly. The remade ice creams they gave us (which we hadn't asked for) were barley half-filled and looked like they had been made days ago, chucked into a freezer, then pulled out and given to us. not to mention that one of the said ice creams had sticky tape holding its lid shut, which also disgusted everyone.
All in all, this mistake was a simple fix that ruined my family's whole night and ensured that no one in my family, or anyone we know, will ever go to that store again. Read moreWalked in and was immediately advised by another customer that there was a long waiting time to get our orders, we decided to continue with the order. I asked for a Bacon Deluxe Hunger Tamers meal, the person serving was confused and asked me again what I wanted, I pointed at the listed meal on the board and said the meal with the Bacon Deluxe, cheeseburger and nuggets, this was responded with "I think you need to order a Bacon Deluxe and then add the Hunger Tamers add on?" It was the same price so no issues with that. Whilst waiting, the manager was consistently apologising for the long wait or missing/wrong items. The manager seemed stressed, it almost made you feel obligated to hop out the back to give them a hand with making and packing orders. It was apparent they had been busy for quite a while, all tables were dirty and one of the bins was full. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, I'm assuming the store would get busy, especially over the weekend with many groups passing to and from Margaret River and surrounding areas. Read moreWent to the drive through, waited at the speaker for about 5 minutes. Was the only car here. No one took our order, drove to the first window and waited another few minutes, no one came. Then drove to the second window. 2 staff could see me and completely ignored me for a few minutes. I drove around and walked inside and placed my order on the self service machines. Mine was the only order, there were 3 staff (all young boys under 20) working. They were mucking around and being loud, the supervisor was standing on the iPad ignoring the orders. One guy did the whole order himself and asked the supervisor multiple times for help. It took 25 minutes for them to make 4 burgers and 3 drinks despite the shop being empty and mine being the only order. I talked to the guys when they gave it to me and asked who the supervisor was, chatted to him about lifting his game and he argued with me and was quite defensive. Overall the burgers tasted good thanks to the one guy actually trying but the service was awful and the staff were out of control mucking around in the kitchen.
