I have visited Mamma Africa thrice since I got to Perth 14 months ago. I have not visited in the last 6 months but I felt prompted to write a review after searching out African restaurants on google. Owner is extremely friendly and welcoming which is the biggest plus for me. She remembered the previous times I came with my sister and asked after our wellbeing. That alone offers one the comfort to eat and feel at home. Food was lovely on all three occasions and very affordable too. Portion size of food is perfect and filing, cos lots of us from Africa enjoy a good-sized meal! Atmosphere is rated a 4/5 because though it is not fancy-looking, reminds one of restaurants and their ambiences back home. I am from Nigeria, by the way.

Liver was really tasty. I also like their chilli sauce. I think price wise is ok. Very...

Also cooked just the way I like it... not oily, nice and spicy but not chilli hot and came with an accompanying green chilli sauce which added another layer of flavour. The portion size was value for money, as I've been known to grumble about just how some takeaway vendors can get away with their miniscule containers, this was a meal not a snack and as a local I'm now kicking myself for having waited so long to try...
