We are new to the area and heard Cafe Coast was great. We booked a table for Sunday lunch. Plenty of parking but the bays are unusually long as we discovered later when we were asked to move our car as we had parked behind someone. At the time there wasnt anothet vehicle in front of this car. It had come in later and blocked their exit. We had been seated inside as requested. The day was better than expected so asked if we could be seated overlooking the Marina. The hostess was very obliging and moved us outside. It was still covered and the clear plastic blinds were down so there was ample protection. Service was a little slow for our drinks order and meals. The starters came out reasonably quick. I had octopus and the wife had the potato and leak soup. Both were delicious. For mains I ordered the seafood fettuccine. I asked if they could leave out the prawns (alergy) which they did. My wife ordered the Barramundi. I was suprised the presentation of the pasta wasnt that great. It looked as though it had been slopped on the plate. The table next to ours had ordered this as well. Theirs looked similar. It is unusual for me not to finish a meal but this one had me beat. I found the tomato sauce was thick and overpowering. The seafood was lost in the sauce. The wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal. She was unable to finish but requested a take away. I had to signal the wait person after waiting for some time for our plates and wine glasses to be cleared. Empty piccolo bottles and champagne glasses from our first order remained on the table until we left. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Maybe a bit more attention to detail. Such as. A soup spoon with soup. Which I was given with my pasta but no fork as it had been used on my entre and hadnt been replaced.

This place is truly a gem! We’ve been here several times and are impressed every single time. The food is absolutely outstanding – full of flavour, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. There are also fantastic options for vegans and vegetarians, which we really appreciate. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with cosy seating and a stunning view over the marina. It’s also dog-friendly, which makes it even more special for us. The staff are simply wonderful – always friendly, professional, and attentive. We especially love that all dishes arrive at the same time – such great service! We always feel welcome and look forward to our next visit. Warm greetings from the Germans!

Warning do not order the stead we ordered two steaks they were absolutely dreadful not not cooked at all we sent one back it was even worse Told duty manager she gave us a discount on our entree that we enjoyed then changed us $130.00 for steak Staff watched us wrap both steaks up to feed our dogs Was advised by the manager the next day that the could not do anything as we took the steak home for the dogs.. Why were we not told we could get a refund if we left them? Don’t waste your time or money Had to cook when I got home Really disappointed that there is no follow up service If you can afford to feed your dog $130 steak dinner then this is the place for you!

Went for birthday, organised by other half. Seemed busy. Drink order taken after 5 mins, asked re sparkling wine on menu, whether it was a brut and hence dry. Waitress did not seem to know and didn't attempt to find out either, so ordered a pint of beer instead. Drinks never came after nearly 30 mins, no water offered. When waitress finally turned up, she stood there I'm assuming to take our order. I mentioned some water would be nice, which she responded by saying nothing and just walking off. She then returned and slammed bottle on table. I then said let's go, I'm not wasting money at a place that 100% does not deserve it. Went to complain about how rudely we were treated and the same waitress then made us feel bad about the fact we were complaining. At no point was there any apology, just excuse they were busy. We then called them from outside the restaurant and the same waitress answered, asked to speak to manager, found out she was the manager, she then asked if I wanted to speak to other manager, while on phone we could hear her in background saying its those complaining people....If your busy, let your customers know and as most restaurants do supply water at the start when showing your customers to their table, although after reading previous reviews it seems like you don't supply water unless you order alcohol here? Very, very bizarre. Drinks order should not take 30 minutes from when ordered either. So thank you for ruining my birthday lunch. Also, you could have saved this by apologising and offering a round of Drinks. But of course nothing, just let us go disgruntled and...

This used to be my very favourite restaurant. We have dined here on numerous occasions, taken family and friends and many times, recommended it to others. Unfortunately our last visit was disappointing to say the least. My whole family had travelled down from Perth for a very special birthday and I was looking forward to introducing them to the culinary delights we have previously enjoyed. Unfortunately the food served was far from its previous standard. The lamb shanks tasted like re heated leftovers and the only vegetable to be found was one slice of stewed carrot, the $69 steak certainly wasn’t worth what we paid. We were split on to two separate tables and the second table were served 40 minutes after the first. My request to join the two tables together was refused. One of my relatives requested a drink of tap water after her long drive from Perth and was told that tap water was only to be given to patrons drinking alcohol ( even though there were bottles and glasses on the table which she hadn’t noticed) and that if she was caught drinking it she would be given a warning!!! Cakeage charge was $3 pp. and then only plates and forks supplied. They didn’t even take the cake to be cut and served. When I complained to the manager the response was offensive. Needless to say that they have lost our custom. Disappointed...
