We had heard about Tilly's garden from friends, but this was our first opportunity to visit ourselves. There is something wonderful about eating outside with fairy lights and the breeze in the trees. Matt, our server, was attentive and kept track of exactly where we were in terms of drinks and food. We tried around 6 different cocktails that were all beautifully garnished (our favourite was the Bumblebee). The serving sizes were good, and there was a lot of variety. We shared the cauliflower, pork belly, karaage chicken, and squid dishes. They were very visually beautiful, perfectly cooked and had such great flavours. We also had the scallops, and whilst this dish was well cooked and presented, it was just not our preferred flavour profile.
It's easily accessible, smart casual dress, parking was easy to find and there were kids and people of all ages there. They also have mister for hot days.
They have DJs, live music, comedy nights, and brunches on different days as well, which we were checking out online this morning.
We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for a...
Read moreNice surroundings but ridiculous pricing for some of the alcohol. Beer is similarly priced to CYs main bars but they only come in a schooner making it around $16 - $17 per pint. Wine pricing OK. Cocktails $17 to $19 but very small. They are sneaky too - they don't tell you it's a schooner when you order. Ordering is via QR code and to be paid via your phone before it's brought to your table. Maybe they're looking for a certain clientele here, but clearly not beer drinkers. I went Friday lunch time and there was around 6 people in Tilly's Garden, after out drinks we went to CY's to eat and the place was thriving with 200+ people - maybe a sign of the better value to be had at CY's main bars. MANAGEMENT - you'll initially get people testing your new venue, but longer term who wants to pay $16-$17 beer pints ($12-$13 schooners)? And I thought the Camfield was bad with $14 pints. From a customer that goes to CYs regularly. I hope...
Read moreLove Tilly’s. A really cool vibe. Lots of fair lights positioned for ambience and friendly staff who offer blankets on a cooler night. Some house music playing but not too loud where you can’t hear the conversation. The food is beautiful - Asian fusion and really tasty. They’re small entree servings and best shared with friends so you get to try more. So even though we didn’t eat a huge amount, together with two delicious cocktails each, you come away feeling just right - not overstuffed. I would definitely recommend Tilly’s for a night out. Tilly’s mojito was my favourite drink (if you like sweet) closely followed by take me to Hanoi. The beef tataki had beautiful flavours and the chicken karaange chicken was not dry at all - so moist. Be aware the drinks can take some time - you order via QR code from the table and it tells you you’re in for —- min wait. Ours was 15 mins each time. Food was pretty quick. Book ahead to ensure you...
