Austi Beach Cafe — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

Absolutely horrendous food and service!!! We went to the beach today and wanted to grab some food, all the girls were very rude and didn’t know any answers to the questions we had. My best friend ordered the potato wedges and when she received them, they had given her BAKED potatoes and no sauce came with it even though it was advertised as if there was. We politely asked the owner if we could please switch the wedges for chips as they were not described on the menu as baked potatoes, the owner began to talk abruptly to us saying that she doesn’t know what we expected and not to order it next time, she started to argue that she was right and even then, we continued to be polite to her. The restaurant was completely empty as it was a monday so we waited at the “pick up” section of the bench where the takeaway was supposed to be picked up from, she then stormed over to us 2 minutes later, and really rudely screamed “you need to wait outside! Why are you standing inside, go and wait outside!”. We picked up our things and walked outside, and she left the food on the table infront of us, didn’t say anything, gave us a disgusting look and walked away.

Not to mention, there was 2 dead flies on the inside of the baked cabinet on the baked!!! Absolutely disgusting!...

Poor service and overpriced for serving sizes. It was busy, but of two tables that were seated after us, one had their drinks delivered before we'd even been given our menus, and another received their meals before anyone had bothered to take our order. The serving sizes were a bit small considering the prices, but the food was very nice. Although the chips looked discoloured and overcooked, they did taste nice as well. My fruit crush had at least 5 large ice cubes that hadn't been blended in any way, which only left me with roughly two thirds of an actual drink, and we had almost finished eating before the last of our drinks came out - milkshakes must be difficult to make. The staff were quite pleasant, asked how our meals were although didn't seem concerned when I mentioned an excessive amount of unblended ice cubes. The place was clearly busy, it is in a prime location near the beach and has a decent view of the surf. The atmosphere was very nice despite the majority of tables...

Wouldn’t even give this place half a star. Owner is rude and food overpriced won’t ever be back.

Love reading the reviews of how rude the owner is glad to know I wasn’t the only one . Don’t know how they are still in business with her poor attitude

I am not going to waste my time emailing you because we were there with my 2 year old daughter who was just doing what 2 year olds do playing with the table number (BIG DEAL) and whoever that bitter grumpy woman is (the owner) ever so rudely came over and snatched it . I was so close to just cancelling the food and demanding a refund but didn’t want to make a scene. I’ve never taken my daughter anywhere and someone has been so rude towards her SHES 2 YEARS OLD GET OVER IT. If we ever visit austinmer again we certainly won’t ever be returning to the cafe . From the get go regardless of what my daughter was doing even when we went up to give our order she doesn’t smile she’s not friendly and she’s just got bad customer...
