This traditionally has been one of my go to places for really beautiful icecream for the last 11 years ...and I cannot fault the icecream.....it's a place I always stop at on my way home if I've been working in Sydney. Sadly though the prices for a two scoop cone have been increasing of late, it went from $7.50 to $8.50 now $9.00 ....but being understanding that the cost of living etc will have had an impact I've accepted that being the way it is and I felt that the scoops were of a generous enough size to warrant the $9.00 price tag (plus a surcharge on weekends or holidays)....that is until today ...I decided to specifically drive to the gelato emporium for a treat myself day.....chose my flavours and happily took out the cash to pay.....I was then handed a cone with two miniscule scoops about the size or slightly larger than two golf balls.......I mentioned that it seemed to be a pretty miserable size servings and that I was not impressed at how small the servings had gotten at the price that was being charged and the girl (to her credit) added a little more .........look I get that everyone has to make a profit in business but it's becoming more common that businesses are increasing the price and reducing the quantity of their product and I think its just not on....hence the reason I have brought this up.......if this is the new policy of the gelato emporium then I'll be seriously thinking twice now before buying here again if I'm not going to get value for my hard...
Read moreThe gelato and atmosphere were excellent it was only ruined by the server. She tried to charge us for an extra serving and when I said that is not correct, she insisted we had ordered it.
She had served another family member that was being served by the other saff member and for some odd reason thought he was with us when clearly, that persons dad had paid right infront of her. She did look at them when the other stsff member processed them.
When I told her no she kept on insisting and she became pushy and got grumpy like we are trying to skimp out on a $8 gelato...
Then she asked the staff memebers and the other much nicer staff member answered with, I processed that one already and it has been paid already, the rude staff member then asked the nicer staff memer are you sure.., did you process a pistachio and camarel..., and the nicer staff member said yes again and it was paid for. She then went oh ok. No apology or anything to signify she was wrong. Just pure rudeness by her.
It was only two families inline and it was a very quite time that we had visited. I ignored the negative interaction, but that interaction did ruin the experience.
Apart from the rude server the...

Appreciate the witty replyâbut letâs clear a few things up. This incident didnât happen yesterday, so no surprise your CCTV missed it. And yes, we waited to comment until we were well off-cameraâcall it privacy or just not wanting to star in "The Customer Who Dared to Ask for Help."
At the time, the entire crew âincluding the so-called manager/team leader know what has happened, No reaction, no help, just some eye contact that screamed âWhy are you still here?â Our kid witnessed it all and couldnât wait to share the drama with their friends. Word travels fast, especially in small worlds.
Your table legs may now steady, your customer service is still shakier than the one that dumped a full cup on me. But heyâthanks for the chuckle....
