I just tried Giuliani's for the first time tonight. Ordered through menulog (Delivery didn't affect quality) and the food arrived on time. After menulogs charges, I spent over $70.00 on 2 pasta dishes, 6 pieces of cevapi with cabbage salad, and a small minestrone starter. The food was hot. The quality was embarrassing. The pasta was overcooked, the marinara and arrabiatta sauce was extremely watered down and bland. I have never had a pasta dish of such poor quality. I am chef myself, with quite a long resume of working in both high end restaurants, small cafes and everything inbetween. I'll simply say, i hope a qualified chef did not cook this food. It was basically 10% sauce, and the rest water. Chunks of raw garlic, the cheapest package frozen marinara mix on the market, over cooked sloppy fettucini, not a pinch of salt in any of the food, including the cevapi. A side salad which was just plain shredded white cabbage. No dressing, no seasoning, no other ingredients. Generally calling something a "cabbage salad ' means that cabbage is the most plentiful ingredient, not the only ingredient. Even with the fact that the seafood was extremely poor quality, there was also barely any in the dish. This food literally has failed to have anything desirable. 2 - 3 mouthfuls and then in the bin.
I generally don't leave reviews, but for how piss poor this was, it was necessary. Even if they get it right next time. This establishment has been open for long enough to know how to get it right. This was more along the lines of home cooking, by someone who doesn't understand how to season, how to reduce sauces to the correct strength, how to incorporate herbs into sauces, how to cook pasta al dente, or how to order from local suppliers who have quality products. This is a money grab during lockdown. After working with many great Italian chefs in hatted restaurants around Australia, I think they would be insulted by the quality of this food. I hope you just had a terrible night, or are hiring a new team in the kitchen. I heard the pizza's good though. Maybe...
Read morePizza is good but the base was kinda soggy because of the type of plate/serving dish they use.
My Carbonara was terrible. I was feeling sick eating it - It was a gluggy cheese concoction with little to no egg and little bits of bacon.
My wife's tomato type pasta sauce was really just a can of tomato puree heated with a little bit of maybe basil flakes or similar. I never tasted it but it looked very tomatoey.
I'm convinced that the Kitchen Cook is not a Chef and it seems like it's very very ordinary home-style cooking. They should employee me because I cook a heap better than what my wife & I were served.
My Parent's had Schnitzel meals which seemed better. The chips were nice and the Scallopini looked appetizing. Dad and Mum have been there a few times, so it generally must be alright.
I feel that our service could have been better. Dad and Mum were upset because we were told to move seats and table since they booked us for 12 people, but we were a group of 4 and Dad definitely wouldn't have booked it for 12. The staff though were insistent that it was my Father's fault. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and them blaming him for a wrong booking. They then separated the two tables of 6, one of which we were seated at and should have remained on.
Personally, I can't see myself going back there again. It wasn't a bad experience, but certainly not great or one I am thinking that was really good.
Disappointed customer. I feel that 4.2 Google Rating should be a 3-Star at best.
Thank God, Dad and Mum paid for it because I would have asked for a reduced bill. Honestly, the Pasta dishes...
Read moreDinner date with the wife, Ordered a family pizza called The Lott. Pizza came out looking and smelling good, although when we picked up our first piece the base was soaking wet & the pizza was dripping juice...
My wife told me not to complain so we both pushed on eating the wet soggy dripping base pizza, with 3 pieces left i couldn't eat anymore soggy pizza so i took a piece & walked upto the staff that were cooking and stated our pizza is wet and dripping... 3 young men walked off and a lady asked Whats wrong? Then the owner came over & took a look at the soggy wet pizza base & explained there was new staff & they had not drained the mushrooms i stated we ate most of it and he said i should have said somthing earlier... i then explained to the owner we were hungry & worried about the embarrassment... As i went to pay i noticed the lady did not ask how our meal was & only told me the full bill price. Due to there being no discount or apology i stated our pizza base was wet & sloppy and dripping juice, the lady then walked over to talk the owner, she came back saying 10% off which only removed our wine corkage fee of $3 I feel that was insufficient, i know we ate most of the soggy wet pizza although it was not enjoyable and the owner admitted fault stating his new staff made a mistake.... if i was the owner i would have given us at least 50%...
