The Coffee Emporium Warrawong — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

Food was good, clean facilities, but staff are rude. I waited politely to be served and then the lady serving me got upset at me for waiting to be called. Strange, since usually staff at these places are upset if you start your order before they tell you they are ready. I just smiled politely and placed my order. They served my meal first so I had to ask my toddler to wait. Thats not a big problem, it was just another thing that happened. The thing that made me post this review was that 10mins into our meals (I spent $40 on my toddler and myself) I was asked to clear the table for new customers by a man in charge. He didn't ask if we were finished, he told us to clear the table because he said we were done. I pointed to my son and said I am waiting for him to finish his meal. A very tired mum here (all mums out there, I know you hear me), I have very well behaved son (he was just sitting quietlyat his seat picking slowly at his food as toddlers do), and the cafe owner told new customers they could stand beside us to wait for us to finish. Edited: Visited recently, the menu has changed slightly. Service was friendly & food & drinks didn’t take long to be served. Pumpkin soup was nice but lacking some flavours, bit of salt, pepper & cream would lift the dish. Banana bread was ok, but I think margarine was used instead of butter. Overall, not a bad spot for a quick bite & coffee.

I order a grilled chicken burger with shoestring chips. I asked for gluten free bread. The order came out with thick cut chips and crumbed deep fried chicken. Not only was it not an item on the menu, I had said it was for gluten free. I think it is very incompetent to very blatantly cross contaminate, especially when it wasn't what I ordered to begin with. Three out of four meals we ordered were below average. The milkshakes were nice although served in plastic when we asked for eat in (other customers had eat in milkshake containers).
