RASHAYS - Warrawong — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

We had a group of 9 visit on a Friday night for my daughter's 14th Birthday. It was her choice of dinner and Rashays was a past time favourite. Rashays in Warrawong is well behind the benchmark set by other Rashays locations. The biggest let down was the service and the food. Pros - The restaurant was clean, well ventilated and noise levels were good. There were a handful of staff that were obviously more experienced and bubbly.

Hospitality - The wait staff assigned to us were rigid and did not want to be there.

Food - The food was hit and miss. The pizzas were disgusting. The dough was not fully cooked. My guess was that the pizzas are par cooked and then heated under the grill. The tell tale sign is the tiny bubbles in the cheese. My daughter took one bite and did not want it. Noone asked us how the food was.

Details - I approached the counter to advise that the pizza was not nice and ordered a garlic bread instead. When the garlic bread came out, they did not offer to remove the discarded pizza. I had to ask. Thankfully, we were not charged for it (which I had to check the receipt to ascertain). No attempt was made by the staff to ask for feedback or apologies for it. My daughter (the birthday girl) ordered risotto. Her first comment when it arrived was that it looked nothing like the picture. She had a few mouthfuls.

Her friend ordered lasange and was unhappy with the serving size and was not impressed with the flavour.

I had bought in a cake and asked for it be brought out. The staff member I approached was lovely and offered sparklers (to which I agreed). When the cake came out the server awkwardly placed the cake on the table. Some of the icing must have stuck to the box but it would have been nice if they had of scraped it off and put it back on the cake. Noone said happy Birthday to my daughter. I had to ask for something to cut the cake (I don't carry knives on me). She did get me a large knife which was dirty.

We had to get their attendion to order extra drinks. Our wait staff had no personality and really made our celebration seem like a hassle. Noone wanted the mounds of leftovers because the food was not good. Again no questions were asked about if we liked the food.

Overall, we will not return to this Rashays. If we were to go again, we would make the trip to Penrith where the service and food is...

I'm from Sydney, I went to Rashays Warrawong with my family during our holiday in wollongong, it was my second experience in rashays in general and sadly it wasn't as expected, We were 6 people we ordered and we we're there for at least 15 mins we've never get any water or cutlery on table there were nothing the table it was just empty till we started getting our mains and that was 20-25 mins after while the other tables had everything ready before they got their food, the ugly part was after I finished I went to ask for 🚻 one of the staff a girl with eye glasses that was serving us before another guy started serving, she came to me holding an ubereats bag in her hand and she gave it to me saying thank you in a very rude way I was like excuse me what's that? She was like, "Aren't you a ubereats driver, and I was like, no, I asked you about the toilet. You ignored my question and gave me an ubereats order, and that's not nice at all, then she literally said nothing and walked away. Im not saying it's a shame to be an uberdriver but it's really rude what she did and the way she spoke to me and the looks she gave me, still there was another guy who served us as well he was really nice, the food can be better, burgers literally tasted like burnt bun the fettuccine didn't taste as expected (the sauce) it was kind of dry as well , the wings was alright, portions wasn't that good you get more chips than your main meal in the plate. I'm not sure if I will even go to rashays anymore, but I hope you guys look after the place and try to...

Giving 1 star is even a stretch! Waitress that seated us just put us in the closest seats kind of pointed then went back to popping balloons (not a great sound in a restaurant)and sweeping. The place was empty yet we weren't asked of preference. Once seated, waited 20 min to be served. When we were served, it was by possibly the worst waiter I've EVER had ! Like seriously this guy should get a job at "Karen's". The service went..... "waddya havin " we order, he repeats it back. That's it! No drinks no manners no greeting of any kind and we both felt like we were burdens to be present. Our drinks came first and were slamed down on our table in such a way as to actually "jump scare" my partner and the Mars bar milkshake came out room temperature with NO MARS BAR the chocolate "milk shake" was cold but that was because it was a glass of ice with a little milk and chocolate topping.......worst "milk"shake ever. ($20 for them too) . Then they bought out our food (both pasta dishes) BOTH COLD!. By this stage we were pretty disappointed and so got desert. Only to be served stickdate pudding with no sauce and meltd ice cream and my poor missus would prefer domino s brownies than the one they served her. All in all a TERRIBLE experience and $106 down the drain. Never going back and would suggest you don't waist your time or subject any one you care about...
