Terrible service. Went there a couple of weeks ago, got there at 15.30 and place is supposed to close at 16.30. They didn’t seem to want to work, part of the menu wasn’t available and we had to eat using take away wrapping and cutlery which is not too bad. The problem was after we ate and my elderly mother wanted to use the toilet, but toilet was locked and they told us she couldn’t use because toilet was already cleaned. I asked if there was another toilet near by and they told us she could use the bush. Well, I hope the boy who served us never have elderly parents to look after. Read moreOh dear..where do I even begin...the place itself is really nice, the outdoor and indoor seating is nice, it has a toilet which is good if you need a toilet. Everything appears to be nice, however..we ordered a couple of steak pies and they were awful, bland and watery, the crust was passable but not that great. The drinks were fine from the fridge but the coffee was horrid. The staff were reasonably nice. Just some advice for you guys, if you want to run a bakery/cafe maybe learn how to bake a pie and actually taste the filing before you put it into the pastry before you bake them. Do better guys or go do something you might be better at... Sincerely......

Is it the case that riders just miss it to get the the nearby Scarborough Hotel?
Eating there lends somewhat of an explanation. The service was polite, if not friendly. Certainly pleasant enough. The pies alas, disappointed. On the other hand, the coffee was good, and the interior cafe was pleasant enough for a quick cuppa. Good for a stop, but probably not a destination in...
