I took my mum here for lunch as she is Celiac & had eaten at Gnostic previously. Mum ordered a cheese & tomato toastie on GF bread (which she confirmed several times upon ordering & was ensured there is no cross contamination) Mums toastie came out, hardly toasted (if you know gluten free bread you know it’s a chore to not eat it toasted toasted!) She sent it back to the kitchen for them to fix and when it came back the smell of oil was next level. The toastie was also not cut - mum had to cut it herself - no big deal really. Mum proceeded to eat her lunch - she started to feel funny toward the end of her sandwhich & has spend the entire day in bed today as she was “glutened” from gnostic. She did not eat a single thing yesterday besides her toastie. Also, I want to ensure that I mention that on her toastie, the bits of tomato were THE END bits of the tomato that are usually disposed of.
Not very happy at all & nor is mum as she is very very...
Read moreJust want to warn everyone to double check your food when it comes out at Gnostic Mana in Woy Woy.
We went there yesterday and they had a special “vegan tofu loaded fries with mushroom” — so we ordered it and assumed it would be vegan because it had the word vegan in the title.
The fries come out and I’m suss on the melted cheese and feta on top but I have a small chip. It tasted like cow cheese 🤢
I approached the waitress and said “Is this cheese vegan? I would assume so because it’s a vegan dish but it doesn’t look or taste like vegan cheese” she looked at it and went “hmmm. I’ll check with the kitchen” — she comes out, very apologetically, and explains that the chefs ran out of vegan cheese so used “normal” cheese 🤦🏼♀️
She was very sorry and great and offered us another plate with aioli instead. But bad judgement on the chefs part. We just got a refund and said...
Read moreMy recent experience at Gnostic Mana Cafe was disappointing and concerning. I ordered a chicken wrap for takeaway, but was shocked to find that the chicken inside was completely raw. Not only was this a major health hazard, but it was also a clear indication of poor food preparation standards.
When I brought this to the attention of the staff especially the big green haired one with Grinch like features and a lazy eye, her response was sloppy at best. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake, which left me feeling even more frustrated.
Food safety should always be a top priority for any establishment serving food, and this experience has made me question the overall hygiene and quality control practices at Gnostic Mana. I strongly advise others to be cautious when...
