KFC Young — Restaurant in Young

Not just woeful, HISTORICALLY woeful! I have been in this area for over fifteen years and this store is renowned as the worst KFC ever, by locals and travellers alike. The best "real" review I have heard was from a couple from Cootamundra who went there, and their first experience was dreadful, which they put down to bad luck. They went another four times, at their children's insistence, only to find each visit a disappointment and a real worry at the hygiene standards. I have seen the very things described by other reviewers here, and unless by some freaky miracle, we were all there at the same time, I think we can safely say that the problems are systemic and entrenched. I have even seen a staff member in tears at the front counter, because customers were finally starting to snap and get shouty and she was getting no cooperation from the staff in the kitchen. She had to refund a string of orders [unfulfilled] because they could no longer wait and “had to go back to work” as one customer said as she stormed out. Another customer expressed what the others in store were thinking with “how is this store still operating?” I know a “died in the wool” KFC fan who has been there five times in a row and never been able to get WATER as her choice of drink. So she gets no drink because all other choices are full of sugar or artificial sweeteners/poison. HOW can you run out of water. It's just water in a bottle. Are they afraid that if they overstock it they will have to throw it all out next week because the laws of the universe have changed and water molecules kept in a bottle will turn into tiny angry wasps precisely seven days after entering their store. Let me tell you something for free. After many years in business with none of them spent in bankruptcy, and having watched so many come and go, there is only one thing that will keep a business with multiple employees running well. Leadership and all that comes with it. Every good operation I know has it. The rest you will experience for yourself quite regularly and they will all lack this simple yet rare component in their “management”. PS. Don’t bother complaining through official channels, because last time I tried their “online” complaints portal was not functional and when I informed them of this they assured me that someone would call me back soon to discuss this and the other issues. I’ll give you one guess how that wait is going......................Think i'll change from chicken to pork, as I am reliably informed that the creature it is sourced from is known to fly over my place...

Air conditioning wasn't working in store today. 5 male staff chatting on both sides of the counter. Whilst tables and the floor were filthy. To beable to sit at any one of the tables we had to plead for a staff member to wipe the table down. Which was done but only the table we were sitting at lol! All others remained filthy. We were not given spoon serviette sets for the potato and gravys. The customer behind us stood waiting for a good 5 minutes because he also hadnt been given a spoon servette set. The drinks were warm evedently the fridges arent working efficiently. And the flys were everywhere around 3 per table we were counting. The floor had food scraps and plastic scattered everywhere. The toilets appeared to have not been cleaned at all absolutely filthy. Now for the food. The chips were not seasoned were second grade quality and far from fresh. Lots of broken crispy small pieces of chips. Legs were evidently in high supply as we received 3 no breast pieces. The potato was dry and gravy ok. However the chicken strips were good. Concerns are with the dining area filthy where customers are present. What hygeine standards are maintained in the kitchen area out of customers sight?...
