Zirmalm — Restaurant in Alpbach

Well, what can I say. The Alm has 4,7 stars and it's not deserved. We waited 1,5h for dinner and the only meal that was all right was the Schnitzel. The Zwiebelrostbraten was a slim slice of meat resembeling the insole of my skiboot. It was good meat but poorly cooked and not properly seasoned. Futhermore it was drowned in sauce that wasn't seasoned and served with potatos, we payed extra for and also not seasoned. My friend had a salat with a supermarket bun from the day before. However the dark beer was pretty good. Overall the Restaurant of the Alm doesn't deswegen more than 1 star. For the Zwiebelrostbraten go to Conny's instead.

Despite booking a table 3 weeks in advance it seems we were not expected when we arrived at the Zirmalm just after Christmas. No warm welcome at all which was very disappointing. The two waitresses did not pay us any mind when we arrived and we stood waiting for too long despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy. Eventually we were taken to a table which then needed to be laid up. Our order was taken another 20 minutes later and when I asked about some of the dishes the waitress told us we needed to decide quickly because the kitchen was closing?! The food was ok and our waitress did become friendlier. But they need to work on greeting their customers and making them feel welcome because, sadly, we certainly did not feel...
