Brauereigasthof Reiner — Restaurant in Gemeinde Lochau

I stayed here as part of a trade show in Friedrichstafen, Germany. As the hotel is on the German border, it is a great option as it is only 30 minutes to the Friedrichstafen exhibition halls. ||||Very quaint in the nice town of Lochau. If you are looking for anything other than practicality, you'll have to find it yourself. I.e. local attractions, what to do etc...||||The hotel (as already reviewed) is part of a restaurant of the same name. With only 5 rooms on offer, you best book in advance during summer or trade show seasons. Very cost effective and nice accommodation for the non-fussy traveller. ||||Staff are very friendly and helpful to the non-Germanic traveler. Breakfast (noramlly included) is typically Bavarian with lots of breads, meats, cheese and basic fruit options. You might need to wander down the road should you want eggs etc... ||||If you like a morning run, this is ideal. You can run up and down the track parallel to Lake Constance. What a great start to the day. ||||Some other points to note||||- The hotel is just up from a church. If you like a sleep in, know the bell starts ringing at 0700... and then every 30 minutes after||- If you are using a GPS, when you arrive it is easy to drive right past. The signage can be a little challenging to see should you be coming off the autobahn. Der Brauereigasthof Reiner ist ein schönes stilvolles Landhaus in historischem Ambiente mit neu gestalteten Zimmern in modernem Design. Der Landgasthof wurde sehr liebevoll renoviert und ist stilvoll eingerichtet. Doch alles in allem muss ich sagen, steht das schöne Wohlfühl-Ambiente nicht im Einklang mit der alltäglichen Bewirtschaftung − lästige Küchen- und Nikotingerüche ziehen durchs Haus und in die Zimmer, Nutzung eines Personal-Umkleideraums bei den Gästezimmern, kein Luxus und mangelnde Sauberkeit bei der angebotenen Wäsche, eingeschränkte Auswahlmöglichkeiten beim Frühstücksangebot − was meiner Meinung nach den gehobenen Preis nicht rechtfertigt. Die Gästezimmer liegen im obersten Stockwerk, dort ist es recht abgeschieden und ich hörte den Gastraum nicht. Die viel befahrene Landstraße war zu hören. Dass der Gasthof Reiner kein Hotel, sondern ein Landgasthaus ist, hat durchaus seinen Charme. Aber daher gibt es hier morgens kein Frühstück, das bekommt man gegenüber beim Bäcker. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig. Ich bekam drei Brötchen, dazu Käse, Schinken, Marmelade und Saft. Leider gab es aber keine Auswahl bei den Kaffeesorten, sondern ich durfte nur zwischen normalem Kaffee, Tee oder Kakao wählen. Ein Milchkaffee oder andere Kaffee-Sorten etc. müsste ich ggf. extra bezahlen, hieß es am Verkaufstresen und eine Margarine anstatt Butter hätten sie nicht zur Auswahl. In einem Landgasthaus wird bekanntlich herzhaft und gut gekocht, so auch hier, doch die Essensgerüche aus Küche (der Kücheneingang ist immer offen zum Flur hin) und der Nikotingeruch aus der Gaststätte ziehen durchaus nach oben in die Gästeetage. Oben bei den Zimmern befindet sich zudem ein Umkleideraum des Personals, was zu einer gewissen Ruhestörung im Schlafbereich der Gäste führt. Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig, denn im (frischen ?) Bett fand ich überall dunkle Haare. Das darf nicht passieren! Nicht umsonst leisten sich Nobelhotel eine Fachkraft zur Nachkontrolle der gereinigten Zimmer und insbesondere der frischen Betten bevor neue Gäste kommen. Obwohl die Räume Gasthof Reiner neu und edel eingerichtet sind, waren aber die Spannbettlaken abgenutzt und teils löchrig. Auch die Handtücher waren nicht luxuriös, wie es für das Design-Ambiente passend wäre, sie waren zwar sauber aber gar nicht flauschig weich, sondern bretthart. Lobend erwähnen möchte ich die bereitstehenden Kaffee/Teemaschine auf dem Flur zur Selbstbedienung, obwohl ich zuvor erst die Bedienungsanleitung (liegt im Zimmer bei den Infos) studieren musste, ohne dies wäre ich nicht mit der Maschine zurechtgekommen, so war ich dennoch sehr froh über die angenehme Teestunde auf meinem...
