Gasthaus Spitzerl — Restaurant in Gemeinde Spitz

We came to eat at the place because it was the only restaurant we could find to offer an open kitchen around 15:30 in the afternoon. The food was ok, but I did miss the Austrian friendliness that I normally associate with all our restaurant visits. The staff was also not attentive, leaving us be with several empty glasses without trying to sell us a refill. Probably not frequented by many Austrians but mostly tourists? Nonetheless, no complaints...

Wir waren zweimal in unserem Kurzurlaub dort essen. Die Bedienungen waren jeweils freundlich und haben immer mal wieder nach einem geschaut ob es an irgendetwas fehlt. Die Location an sich ist recht schön, die Aussicht auf die Donau ist etwas beschränkt je nach Sitzplatz. Der Platz am Tisch selbst war sehr eingeschränkt, wir waren einmal mit 10 Leuten und einmal mit 5 dort und beide Male saß man sehr eng beieinander auf der Bank oder saß sich im Weg wenn andere auf dem Kopf des Tisches saßen. Das hat den Aufenthalt eher ungemütlich gemacht. Beim ersten Mal war auch der Platz auf dem Tisch sehr eingeschränkt sodass bspw. mein Sitznachbar links seinen Teller komplett hochkant drehen musste, damit alles auf den Tisch passte. Jeder hatte dabei nur einen Teller. Der BBQ Burger war lecker und man wurde satt, lediglich die Burger Buns waren leider sehr hart und kross. Beim zweiten Mal gab es das Herrengröstl, dieses schwamm nur so im Öl, was nicht so toll war. Die Portion an sich war auch sehr klein, weshalb ich nicht satt geworden bin. Geschmacklich war es okay. Der Burger war definitiv besser. Die Preise empfand ich als etwas überzogen für das, was man letztendlich bekommen hat. Kartenzahlung war nicht möglich, weshalb manche von uns nochmal zu einer Bank mussten, für mich ein No Go in der heutigen Zeit. Aufgrund genannter Punkte zwei Sterne...

A truly enjoyable experience from start to finish. The dentist took the time to make sure all my questions and concerns were addressed. They were busy, but at no point did I feel rushed or pressured. I especially appreciated the high quality photos that showed exactly what was going on with my teeth. I have had 3 implants and they are very comfortable. Don't hesitate to go!
