Dimi's Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in Gemeinde Tschagguns

I honestly wanted to give 1 star but the staff was still friendly.

This restaurant convinced me google ratings in Austria mean nothing. I have never had such disappointing food served to me in a restaurant until I came here with friends.

Two friends are vegetarian and wanted to see if they could have a special order (like feta gyros), but the waiter said it is not possible as everything is already pre made and not possible to change in the register. A bit disappointing.

After we ordered our food, we were served our drinks. One friend had a huge chip in his beer glass. Our started salad was served with a mayonnaise dressing but was not mentioned on the menu, so I asked to have salad with oil and vinegar instead. They brought me a “new” salad with less salad, but the more I looked at it, the staff just fished out the salad with mayonnaise dressing and reserved me the salad 😂 the mayonnaise dressing was still present in the bowl so I did not eat it.

My friends order of fries had no salt, and tasted like nothing. They described their food as if the chef bought Greek themed food from Lidl and served it at a restaurant. My partners tomato rice tasted like they used the leftover tomato sauce from canned beans and dumped it into rice. None of our dishes had any salt or pepper. Unfortunately we did not even have salt or pepper on the table.

I really think the staff knew we hated the food because they did not even ask if we liked the food when we stopped eating, but asked if they could just take our plates 🤣

At least the tzatziki tasted good!

I highly do not recommend this place. Honestly a food truck or imbiss food would taste better and actually...

Major disappointment. We were told there was going to be a wait because they were understaffed, and we foolishly stayed hoping we were waiting for good food. Two hours later we were presented with their speciality Dinos teller and their moussaka. The moussaka looked like it came straight out of the microwave and tasted only oregano and tomato. The grilled pork tasted only lemon and the fries were soft and soggy. Upon pointing this out to the waiter, he insisted everything was perfect and we had not read the menu properly. He then proceeded to try and charge us 76€ on the credit card, despite the bill being for 46€.

Wij hebben hier vorige week 2x gegeten. De 1e keer niet gereserveerd, 2e keer wel. Reserveren is aan te raden en wordt zeer op prijs gesteld en wacht netjes bij binnenkomst tot er een tafel wordt aangewezen. Ga niet zelf zomaar zitten. Is niet netjes! Zoals Jochem N (zie zijn recensie) ... en zij hadden ook niet gereserveerd (wij zaten er die avond namelijk ook voor de 2e keer). Hele vriendelijke eigenaar. We hebben de 1e keer heerlijk gegeten. Duurde even, maar was verder echt goed. De 2e keer naderhand zijn persoonlijke verhaal gehoord en begrijpen zijn situatie. Hij doet zijn best alsnog alles draaiende te houden en ivm voorbereidingen in de keuken wordt reserveren aangeraden en kan hij enkele tafels "niet gereserveerd" erbij aan. De klant zou er natuurlijk niet onder moeten mogen lijden, maar wij hadden begrip en geduld. Ga er dus heen als je nog geen honger hebt, want het kan even wat langer duren. Ze zijn maar met 2 mensen. Wij vonden beide keren het eten lekker en zeker niet vet. De salade was wel simpel, niet zoals je van een Griek gewend bent. Daar horen olijfjes, komkommer, tomaat en uitje in (tip voor de eigenaar dat toch toe te passen ♥) Ik zou hier zeker weer naar terug gaan om te eten als we in de buurt zijn. Ik hoop ook echt dat de eigenaar een andere manier gaat vinden om het allemaal wat vloeiender te laten lopen en naar wat ze samen aankunnen voor dit moment, want dat verdient hij. De locatie, speeltuin, binnen en buiten ruimte is eigenlijk perfect, maar voor nu te groot voor wat ze aankunnen. Daarom reserveer en geef...
