La Taverna VII — Restaurant in Imst

Ordered 3 meals, beer and tap water. Food was great. When we asked the check we noticed that the price for all 3 meals were 1euro expensive than the price we saw in the English menu. Before paying, I asked to see the English menu one more time to be be sure that we remember correctly the prices. The waiter refused to show me the English menu and aggressively said that these are the prices. Shortly later the manager came and said that the English menu was old and the prices are not updated. Personally, we didn't mind paying those extra 3 euros. We just wanted to say that we think it would be more decent to notify the customers with the actual prices in the menu. In this moment the manager has lost his nerves, yelling in mixed German-Italian throughout the restuarant, aggressively clearing the table while spilling water everywhere. We payed and got out as fast as we could. I gave 1 star for the great food that's worth mentioning, horrible personnel though....

I had just arrived to Imst after a massive day of travelling with a fair few problems. I went looking for some takeaway dinner for the wife and I, hoping it would be problem free. I was greeted by the biggest smile I’d seen all week. I asked if he spoke English, to which he smiled again and said yes. He confirmed they did takeaway, so I ordered two pizzas by numbers, and without me mentioning the names, he confirmed them both by name. He then offered me a chair whilst I waited and got me a beer, which was amazing.

I can’t recommend these guys enough the service and experience itself was incredible. But as if that wasn’t enough, both pizzas were amazing as well.

Hubby and I found this restaurant on a quiet Tuesday evening in Imst. There is only one other occupied table in the restaurant so we were treated to excellent service. The two gentlemen working couldn't have been sweeter! Lasagna was excellent and salad was lovely and fresh. We enjoyed a nice Chianti and enjoyed the cozy and relaxing ambience. It's always nice to find really good Italian food in other countries. I would love to come back to Imst to explore more of this...
