Came here expecting a huge "oh, honey, lets go to lunch for Valentine's Day because dinner will be impossible" crowd. It was actually quite empty. This was good for me.
They don't have an English menu, which is weird because this place has all the earmarks of a modern, hip establishment in the US. Either way, the bartender was more than happy to explain the items to me. He was very pleasant and happy.
I ordered the Crazy Chicken, which was supposed to be a sandwich consisting of fried chicken, baby spinach, and cranberry sauce in a brioche bun. I added bacon because, why not?
The sandwich came out and it had a lot of extra ingredients inside. Tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers. Now, I hate cucumbers more than anything. They are the most repulsive thing on this earth. I just took them off and proceeded to eat.
The bread was perfect, but a lot larger than the chicken. The chicken was not what I had expected. It was more of a chicken cutlet with a thin coat of breeding than a thick, crispy piece of fried breast. There should have been twice as much chicken inside that bread.
Considering the country, if I made a sandwich called the crazy chicken, I would have done the chicken right, but I would have had it with horseradish, bacon and a maple glaze.
Was it worth the 25 minute walk from the city? Not sure. It's a nice place and I'm sure some of the other dishes are good. They have a good...
Read moreEvery once in a while we stop by at this place for its quality food and modern-industrial ambiente. Not to mention the superb selection of craft beer. Today we were served by a very charming and competent waitress, whom we haven't seen before. The order was taken right away and even some special requests didn't trouble the staff at all. The food was freshly prepared and served in no time, by the manager himself, despite the fact that they had quite a busy afternoon. The burgers and the side dishes exceeded our expectations, as always. But it was when we requested the bill that we were informed that the waitress was in fact the deputy manager who had only been working there her second week and had yet to be taught all the irks and quirks of the business. We were positively surprised by the superb service and the lovely chatter with the manager and his deputy.
I do absolutely recommend this location to everyone who seeks quality food, good service, lovely personnel and the brick-wall ambiente of a former locksmith's shop. Until...
Read moreWe ordered wings to share. The wings were surprisingly great. We should have stopped there and just had wings for the rest of the night. The Grill was broken and we had resservations for New Years Eve. So half the menu was out the window. It was New Years Eve in a highly visited tourist town. There was no way we could go anywhere else. The cherry on top was that they knew for days leading up to New Years Eve and did not contact us. The mains we ordered were mediocre at best. But oh my goodness the wings to share appetizer was AMAZING. I should have thrown my chicken sandwich away and ordered more wings. Plus they seated us up top away from all the action down stairs. This was New Years Eve and we sat up top with no one else around us for around an hour before the tables started to fill up. Our waitress was pretty good despite us being sat up stairs, she managed to stay on top of our needs and be quick...
