Hotel-Gasthof Weitgasser — Restaurant in Mauterndorf

I stayed in this hotel with my daughter, as part of a conference in town, and an opportunity to go skiing together. The room was very spacious and the beds comfortable, with a desk which was very useful for us. There we several minor problems, though: 1. Terrible wifi connection. Since both of us needed the wifi for work/study, this was something that really bothered us. I guess that may depend on the location of the room, so if that is important to you, check it first before moving in, 2. Breakfast was usually busy, and since there is no staff, just the couple who run the hotel, sometimes they cannot handle the demand. On the first day there was no clean table available, and it too a while before someone actually came out to clean. In other days, there was items missing and one had to call them in order to ask for juice, eggs, etc.. Some of the tables were actually reserved to some guests, it was not clear why these and not others. 3. Even though we used the soap and shampoo in the bathroom, they were not replaced regularly.||||The hotel has a storage room for ski equipment, and in the same room one can get tea (and sandwiches if you come early enough from ski), and pool and fusball tables, The problem is that it is outside the main building, so you have to go out in the cold. Das Hotel Weitgasser wurde von mir gewählt, weil wir in der Vergangenheit hier öfter sehr gut a la carte gegessen haben. Es ist ein typisches Beispiel, wie Internetbilder trügerisch sein können. Das gewählte Zimmer hat zwar den Erwartungen entsprochen (sehr gute Matratzen und Schlafqualität) aber, ....||Der 2.Stock wurde zwar zeitgemäß renoviert, jedoch müßte das gesamte Hotel einer Generalsanierung unterzogen werden; wahrscheinlich mangelt es am Geld. Es fehlt ein richtiger Lift; im ersten Stock müsste man die uralten Jagdtrophäen entfernen, da nicht mehr zeitgemäß und auch die zugegebenermaßen schönen uralten Kästen, die aber den Raum unnötigerweise verkleinern. Auch die Treppe und das Geländer müsste entfernt und erneuert werden, um den alten Mief wegzubekommen. Es gibt zwar einen neuen viel zu kleinen Wellnessbereich (nur vier Liegebetten), aber dieser ist vom ersten Stock nur über einen freischwebende Konstruktion im Freien zu erreichen. Was das im Winter bei -20 Grad bedeutet, kann sich jeder selbst vorstellen. Zu den Wirtsleuten: Sie ist sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend, er, der auch der Koch ist, ist das absolute Gegenteil von einem Charmebolzen und er hat scheinbar noch nicht gelernt, dass der Gast König ist und immer Recht hat. Ich fand in einer Speise den abgebrochenen Teil eines Plastikdeckels vor. Es kam weder eine Entschuldigung, noch ein "Trostpflaster". Der Chef ist auch äußerst unflexibel bei einem Änderungswunsch in der Speisenabfolge bzw. steht einem Austausch ablehnend gegenüber. Bei einem Grillteller war ich der Meinung, dass das Rindfleisch sauer wäre. Die Reaktion war, dass es frisch in die Pfanne gekommen wäre umd das ist so. Aber ich war ja auch offensichtlich der Einzige, dem das aufgefallen ist. Überhaupt soll der Eindruck erweckt werden, dass es sich beim 5-gängigen Abendmenü um etwas Besonderes handelt (Haubenküche?), was es aber absolut nicht ist. Zum Teil haben die Speisen hervorragend geschmeckt wie eine gebacken Apfelscheibe in einem Mostschaum uund einer Eiskugel, andererseits eine geschmacklose Kräuterroulade und eine Griesnockerlsuppe, die jede(r) Hausfrau - mann besser kann.Das Salatbuffet war jeden Tag von der gleichen Zusammensetzung ohne Phantasie und Variation; das Gleiche gilt auch für das Frühstück. Andererseits habe ich festgestellt, dass es Gäste gab, die schon 20 Jahre hierherfahren, also muss ich zu guter Letzt festhalten, dass der Gasthof Potential hätte, da es so etwas heute schon eigentlich nicht mehr gibt und man auch ein Befriedigend in der Gesamtwertung vergeben könnte.
