Reiskorn — Restaurant in Parndorf/Pandrof

Every time in Parndorf we try something new. This time the Reiskorn and didn't regret it. The place itself is clean and well organised.

The young waitress was smiley, kind and very helpful when asked about food ingredients. Speaks german (of course) and also hungarian.

Every table gets some prawn crackers, ours wasn't that "fresh" as you usually expect. I know it's a kind gesture, but then please make sure doing it the right way.

Drinks came very quick, just like starters. After the starters the mains came in reasonable time and they were very tasty! The portions are huge, everybody liked at the table. Around €30 per person and worth your money!

Why the 4 star. However it was a good experience, a few things to mention: There is a see through walls to the kitchen/back area. All I saw a short hair guy putting his finger in his mouth. Whatever happened after, I don't know, but I don't think anyone should see that. The plates. Almost all of the dishes were chipped. It's not just not nice, but straight away takes your attention from the food. Management shold look after this. When our foods were plated, also pretty visible fingerprints on the side of the dishes. Should handling plates with clean and not oily hands. Chefs should take more attention about aesthetics. The place was not crowded, we arrived short after opening, yet the spicy duck bao was half broken. Probably the result of a rush.

So nothing major, but these little details makes a difference in this industry.

I will go back for a 2nd round in the future and hope can...

Service: Very slow, bad english, don't take feedback about food well ("whatever, the others like it") and don't offer any crayons or books if you come with a child, didn't even offer the toddler chair. Prepare to wait for your food for 60 minutes.

Food: Vietnamese and Cantonese dishes are pretty good for a food-court quality restaurant. Korean style steak is a disaster, because it's served in boiling soy sauce that makes the dish too hot to eat. And while you wait for it to cool down, the sauce also cooks your great medium steak to rubber-like consistency.

Chef, if you are reading this - get rid of the soup bowl, it's not miso, it's not bibimbab. It's a steak with stir fry. Serve the steak separately, on a flat wooden board, with only vegetables boiling in the souce.

Edit: I wish they would've brought food as fast as they respond to...

Seit das Restaurant Reiskorn vor ein paar Jahren eröffnet hat waren wir Stammkunden und sind gerne hergekommen. Das vorletzte mal war ich im Oktober hier und habe bemerkt das sich einige Dinge geändert haben. Unter anderem wird jetzt ein anderer Reis (andere Reisart) serviert der immer total matschig ist. Früher war der Reis qualitativ hochwertiger und nicht überkocht. Die Sweet-Sour-Soup war früher auch um einen ticken besser. Die hat sich leider auch geändert. Aber das waren Veränderungen mit denen ich leben konnte in dem ich die Suppe wegließ und auf den Reis verzichtete. Bei meinem heutigen Besuch hat die Misere aber seinen Höchstpunkt erreicht. Ich habe Xiao Long Bao mit Huhn bestellt. Da war in einem Bao ein Stück Knorpel drin. Da habe ich darüber hinweggesehen. Als Hauptspeise habe ich und eine Freundin je eine Hot Stone Bowl mit Teriyaki Chicken bestellt. Bekommen haben wir die Hot Stone Bowl mit Ente… Nachdem ich die Kellnerin darauf aufmerksam gemacht habe hat sie die Speisen mitgenommen und genauso wieder zurückgebracht und gemeint das das Huhn ist. Ich habe ihr nochmal erklärt das das gar nicht sein kann da Ente von Natur aus eine Fettschicht hat wie bei unseren Speisen und das Hähnchenbrust keine Fettschicht hat. Dann ist eine andere „Managerin“ gekommen und hat gemeint nein das ist Huhn und es schaut nur aus wie Ente…. Ich habe das Gespräch beendet da ich eingesehen habe das es keinen Sinn hat. Ich habe die Hauptspeise vor allem das Fleisch stehen lassen da ich keine Ente mag. Mein Brufer hatte das Green Curry mit Huhn bestellt und hat sein Essen komplett ohne jegliches Fleisch bekommen - hier gebe ich fairerweise zu das der Fehler sofort korrigiert wurde und das Huhn im Curry nachträglich ergänzt wurde. Eigentlich war es heute ein Geburtstagsessen aber nach diesem Zwischenfall haben wir es vorgezogen auf Dessert und Kaffee zu verzichten. Ich habe nich nie erlebt das man in einem Lokal für blöd verkauft werden will… Ich werde dieses Restaurant sicher nicht...
