This hotel left me with one of the biggest contrasts in my travels. On the bright side, the breakfast was simply outstanding – probably the best I’ve ever had on the road. Everything was fresh, tempting, and beautifully presented, with a lovely hotel view that made the morning feel special. But then came the room… unfortunately, very shabby. The floor covering really needs replacing, as it spoils the overall impression. At times I even wondered if, because the hotel is so pet-friendly, the rooms are also kept in a “pet standard.” 🙂 Still, the breakfast experience alone is unforgettable – just be ready for a very mixed stay.

At first sight, this hotel restaurant is not impressive but take a few steps past the parking lot and a lovely courtyard appears. It is an extension of an elegant small dining room. Damask tablecloths and comfortable chairs, a dozen tables in all. Wine is served in Riedel glassware. We had garlic bisque, an Austrian specialty, wild forest mushrooms which were in season (what a treat) served along delicious waxy potatoes and a delicious apple strudel. All delish. |Now for the room. Spacious, a bit dated in appearance but quality linen and comfortable bed and pillows. Nice, large, spotlessly clean bathroom; there was also a hair drier. Be aware that there is no elevator. You will have to carry your luggage upstairs.|And now for breakfast, again a pleasure. Soft boiled eggs, assortment of pastries, cereals, cheeses and cured meats, great breads, jams and lots more were on the buffet. The Breakfast room is charming.|Everyone we interacted with was most pleasant and icing on the came, when we returned our keys we were given two bottles of chilled mineral water. |We were 10 mns by car from the center...

My husband and I recently stayed one night at this hotel. The lady working on reception when we arrived was very curt and said she was too busy to answer our questions. We were given a room in the rear block of the hotel. The room was very out-dated but it was clean enough and OK for just one night. The room was not good value for the price we were charged. ||||We. like many of the other guests, were staying in St Polten for a cycling race, and the hotel was kind enough to run the breakfast buffet a bit earlier so that the riders could have breakfast before the race. Breakfast was a typical 3-star offering. ||||We also had dinner one night at the restaurant. The dinner was very nice, but once again the hotel was let down by the attitude of the staff. It seemed as if it was a real bother to serve us and the waiting times between ordering and receiving food...
