Gastwirtschaft Schattenburg — Restaurant in Stadt Feldkirch

I don't like to do negative reviews, but here I feel have to share so others can avoid making the same mistake. First the good: the restaurant is in a cozey big room, so the atmosphere isn't bad. Not great, since you basically can't see anything of the city eventhough you're high up, but not bad. The food is just ok, not bad but also not great. Overall crazy overpriced sadly. That's it for the good part... Now the bad: As mentioned, the food is super expensive. But not only that you also have to pay extra for basic things like ketchup or mayonnaise. I got a Schnitzel (they claim to be known for it, I serisously have no clue why), my salad, which our waitress gave my wife instead, was included but I also got fries which weren't included. The waitress got two of four drink orders wrong and eventhough we told her we ordered different things she just snapped at us and we even ended up paying more. We didn't realize that until we where already gone though. She also forgot about the soup one of us wanted and brought it when the rest of us were basically done eating. She asked me if I wanted fries and since the menu didn't state there is salad included with Schnitzel I thought she gave me the option to pick either fries or salads, you know, like every other restaurant does. We're 100% never going back there and I seriously recommend anyone to think twice of going there. There's tons of restaurants in the area and pretty much all of them are better, some not that much better, but still better. Definitely the worst restaurant in Feldkirch - and again, it hurts me bashing a restaurant that much, but I have to. Oh, and also: it seems people generally know that this restaurant isn't good already since around half the tables were empty - and that during lunch time in the city center were all the other restaurants usually are full and you can't get a table.

Also: I really am surprised at how many people actually do think this place is good. I've been there twice over the last 7 years and both times were more than...

We came here for dinner since a friend recommended it to us, who eats here regularly. However our experience was terrible. The waiter was the most unfriendly I've seen in a very long time, arrogant and rude. They brought us already half eaten bread from another table. After sending it back, they brought us one (!) slice of bread, which tasted like it was at least two days old and had the guts to charge extra for it! The rest of the food was ok, but my "Schattenburg Schnitzel" was way too dry. In the end we asked for the bill at the bar, since he wasn't around for 10 minutes or so and he came right up to us, yelling what our problem was and why we would ask someone else for the bill, since he was our waiter... Maybe we were just unlucky this day, but the experience in this restaurant was terrible to...

Also Service unter aller S.... nach dem Eingang sollt man an der Rezeption warten. Dann schreit ein unfreundlicher Service Mitarbeiter über alle Tische rüber, ob ich reserviert habe. ( Zur Info an den Besitzer für alle NICHT Gastronomen ) Wenn ein neuer Gast das Restaurant besucht, heißt es als ALLERERSTES!!! Grüß Gott, Guten Tag oder ein einfaches Hallo hätte auch genügt! Dann erzählte ich dem "sympathischen" Service Mitarbeiter, dass ich ein Schnitzel zur Abholung bestellt hätte. Er meinte es wäre schon fertig ( obwohl ich eigentlich ein paar Minuten zu früh war ) Ich wurde somit zur "Zahlkassa" gebeten, welche zuerst vor mir 7-8 Leute anstanden zum ebenfalls zahlen. Als ich dann nach 7-8 Minuten endlich dran war, fragte ich ob das Schnitzel den überhaupt noch warm/heiß wäre, was der Zahlkellner natürlich bestätigte ( was es allerdings auch nicht war, als ich kurze Zeit später Zuhause angekommen bin )!! Sehr ärgerlich - wenigstens der Hund hatte noch eine Freude. Zu guter letzt durfte ich noch wegen dem Preis herumdiskutieren. Schnitzel mit Salat kostet 19.50Euro. Ich bestellte das Schnitzel allerdings OHNE Salat und hätte stattdessen gerne Pommes gehabt. ( also ganz einfach eigentlich.... Salat weg.... stattdessen Pommes dazu ). Versteht eigentlich jedes Kind in der ersten Klasse. Der Hr. an der Kassa wollte das nicht ganz kapieren und mir die Pommes extra noch verrechnen, obwohl ich ja keinen Salat dabei hatte. Seine Aussage war, der Salat wäre sowieso GRATIS dabei. Nach einigen Diskussionen hat er mir dann das Schnitzel zum Normalen Preis mit Pommes verrechnet. Wie gesagt mein Essen war bis dahin schon lange kalt! Vielen Dank nochmals dafür. Da ich als Gast mir mit einer vielzahl an Restaurants aussuchen kann, wo ich mein Geld liegen lasse und essen gehe, werde ich dieses Restaurant zukünftig definitiv meiden und keinem weiterempfehlen. Den gute Gastro geht ganz klar anderst. Als kleines Lob, bzw. das ich noch ein bisschen was positives sagen kann. Die Qualität vom Schnitzel ( sofern ich es heiß bekommen hätte ) wäre eigentlich ganz gut gewesen....
