I booked on a whim. I've been touring Switzerland, and had a day trip to Liechtenstein today so thought it might be fun to eat my three meals in three different countries. Feldkirch is the closest Austrian town, I saw the reviews and emailed immediately, getting a very quick response confirming my reservation.
I arrived, this place was busy, I was pleased that I had booked. There are a lot of tables over at least two rooms that I saw and tables outside for fine weather (which it was not!)
Despite potentially large guest numbers the service was impeccable, very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. And the food (I had the three course "surprise" menu of local, seasonal ingredients) was FANTASTIC! Presented beautifully but also packed with flavour, not the style over substance you see in some places. And it was so reasonably priced for what it was. Favourite meal of my trip so far and a fraction of the price of some of the meals I've eaten.
I've eaten at several Michelin star restaurants (mainly 3s) and I genuinely feel that for the atmosphere, food/drink and service this establishment is worthy of consideration for this honour. Thank you so much for this evening, continue the great work and I hope everyone enjoyed a...
Read moreA perfect dinner experience! We had dinner at Schützenhaus and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was warm and inviting — we sat outside under a covered terrace surrounded by blooming roses, with beautiful weather and views of the mountains, the castle, and the city below. It was also a great spot to take photos!
The food was delicious — we tried local Austrian dishes with pork and chicken, all full of flavor and beautifully served. The mineral and still water were refreshing, and everything tasted fresh and homemade.
The staff were kind, welcoming, and spoke excellent English, which made the experience even more comfortable. Inside, the restaurant felt authentically Austrian — charming wood interiors, traditional artwork, and the character of an old historic building.
We paid €140 for dinner for four people and left a €15 tip — well worth it for the quality and experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the...
Read moreExcellent food with great ambiance and service. Very recommendable for tourists and locals. The location is just next to the well known castle “Schattenburg”. The design of the building and interior is quite traditional and reminds of mediaeval times. The cuisine is excellent and the service is charming and friendly. You should try the famous Wiener Schnitzel or their daily home made specials.
On Mondays they have special wine tastings. Absolutely worth to...
