Mosquito — Restaurant in Vienna

I’ve visited this place many times in the past with friends and family, always enjoyed it, and even left generous tips because I liked the atmosphere and the owner.

Unfortunately, this recent experience was quite disappointing. I ordered a beer in English—as a tourist, I feel more comfortable speaking it. The waitress started pouring multiple beers, so I politely clarified that I had only ordered one. I even said not to worry, I’d take two if needed—but she insisted I had ordered four. Despite my calm and friendly approach, her attitude turned rude, and she aggressively threw the change back at me.

This kind of hostility really soured the experience. I truly hope this behavior doesn’t become the norm in Vienna, as it doesn’t reflect the city I’ve grown...

You need cash or min 10 EURO charge to use your debit card, but while on a big Donauinsel bike ride I needed some refreshment - and the Boss at the counter said no worries, I make an exception! That showed me ‘ the owner / operator cares’ for their customers! Not that usual anymore unfortunately although Austria Hospitality is renown world wide ! I returned in another occasion ! Try their Steckelfish - it’s a speciality...

The grilled fish is good and not too expensive. For 12 euro you can have a plate with grilled fish and potato salad. Drinks are not included. The only minuses are for self service. The waiters can only clean after you, but not come for service. One should wait in the queue for ordering the food and paying for it. The place is on the Donau insel and...
