My vacation to Freeport in Grand Bahama Island was hands down the best vacation I ever had! I mistakenly stumbled across the Sea breeze Villa and Resort looking for a tropical drink and good food. To my surprise there was a restaurant on the property called MadKap Restaurant and Bar! I was delighted by the menu, the drink selection, and the ever so accommodating staff.
Not only did I go back every day for lunch or dinner, but I also ended up changing my sleeping arrangements to the Seabreeze Resort mid-week during my visit. When you find a resort that feels like family and home it is a win-win situation. The staff was welcoming, the beautiful pool is situated perfectly in the middle of the property and when it gets cool at night you can jump in the hot tub for some relaxation. With the good vibes, the music going, drinks flowing and the contagious laughter it was a no-brainer to write this review. I strongly recommend that you visit this resort and the MadKap Restaurant if you are looking for an authentic Bahamian stay and dining experience! Everything from the Lobster, Shrimp, Steak and Grilled Chicken salad was tasty and the portions were huge.
Special shout out to the chefs Paris and Robyn who provided endless flavorful cuisine day after day. The bartenders Nyshanti and Jazzy know how to keep the drinks pouring and the vibes flowing! Everybody that works on the property was so pleasurable to talk to and they certainly made a lasting impression and put a permanent smile on my face. I’m already planning and looking forward to my next visit. You will not be disappointed checking out this spot! Tell them Lexi sent you and they will take good care of you while you create...
Read moreMadkap appears to be a restaurant associated with a country club and perhaps a timeshare property. Seating is entirely outside. We had a choice of two tables where the chairs backed up to posts or bench style seats. They were uncomfortable and positioned such that you were sliding downhill on your seat (as were the drinks). Service was good and the staff was very friendly. My wife had the grilled chicken salad which consisted of grilled chicken on a bed of mostly lettuce with a few apple cubes. Both the men in the party ordered the grilled snapper (which seems to be readily available in every other restaurant where we've eaten). They were out of it. I then ordered the grilled lobster with a salad and mashed potatoes. The lobster was very good. The salad was the same unimpressive salad my wife had without the chicken. The mashed potatoes were served cold. They replaced them with some hot mashed potatoes. They had no taste. They didn't even taste like potatoes. My friend ended up with the Tilapia sandwich. He thought it was quite good. His wife had pasta and shrimp and enjoyed her dinner. I do not recommend Madkap. It's expensive, the food is bland, they aren't well stocked and seating is...
Read moreWhen I tell you that this restaurant not only has the best burgers in Freeport, I’d go as far as to say it has the BEST FOOD in Freeport! I stayed with my mom and aunt for a week at the resort attached to the restaurant and because we didn’t have transportation, we ate at this restaurant quite a few times while we were there.
We tried a variety of dishes from the burgers to the wings, but my favorite were the crack shrimp and fettuccine alfredo. The crack shrimp were big and succulent and the alfredo pasta was seasoned to perfection! Did I also mention they give you good portions too? You could easily split one meal into two to eat for later. We met the amazing server Paris while we were there and she made us some yummy drinks while also sharing in conversation. You can tell that she is very proud of the food served there and it shows in the presentation and taste.
Trust me when I tell you that this place is a MUST visit when coming to Freeport! Great customer service, delicious food, and all the vibes you’d expect from a beach restaurant. I can’t wait to go back! Thank you...
