Ocean Kitchen, Cox's Bazar — Restaurant in Chattogram Division

We are a family of 4... visited with our 2 kids who were very hungry, and so we had specifically asked the manager how long it would take to get the food, and he assured us it would require around 20 minutes. The starters came at around 15 minutes from order time, but the grilled calamari we ordered was so salty that we had to send it back. Portion size was also very small. Then the long waits started. Out of 3 main dishes we ordered, the first one came at 40 mins, second one came at 50 mins after several follow ups, and when we called upon the manager and asked about the third dish, he said it would take another 15-20 mins! Why would a restaurant take 70 mins to serve such basic food like pasta and fish steak for a small group of 4? What sort of service is this, that they serve the food of 3ppl at 3 different times?! I was finally bound to cancel my order and came back without having my dinner. Moreover, they served me lemonade at room temp despite my requirement to serve it chilled, and they said they were out of ice! They didnt even bother to inform me or ask me whether I would still want the "warm" lemonade. The seafood pasta we oredered was basically pad Thai style noodles with only 3-4 pcs of calamari, and portion size was quite small. The prawn pasta was also basic with just 3-4 pcs of prawn. Very disappointed with their food and service.

The only good thing was...

In a word, SPLENDID!!!

We were looking for a proper place in the map to pass our evening where we will find a good ambience, tasty food and serene feeling. Then, we took a chance to explore this restaurant and i must say it was the best choice to make.

We wanted to have bbq fish so told them if it was available. They asked if we wanted to choose the fish on our own. We wanted that actually. So, we had chosen the fish we wanted for us to bbq. Manager of the restaurant, Mr. Shahed told the chef personally to make the bbq delicious. we were waiting for our food and he sent welcome drinks for us. We were happy to see it coming.

Then the main Surprise came. As we were a couple and it was a full moon night, Mr. Shahed asked the staff to turn our dinner date to a candle light dinner date. We were so much thrilled to see it. And the bbq was arranged so beautifully as you can see in the picture. They had cut the beetroot in heart shape. Joss presentation.

Food was delicious.

Behavior of every staff was awesome. Everyone was so welcoming, polite and smile faced.

There is a gaming zone by the side of the restaurant for the children to play.

One negative point is, their hand wash basin is very far from the seating place. Otherwise, whatever we find in a restaurant, all were there in Ocean Kitchen

Ambience:...

A harmony of sea shore and sea food with romantic environment.

Well we were walking by the sea beach, suddenly my partner pointed me a wooden structure which was shining with all the lights possible around. As soon as we reach there, the aesthetic vibe pleased my eyes.

Family, couples, friends group can easily enjoy the aesthetic vibe along with the tasty food offered by the house.

As we started relating our tongue with the house cheffs masterly done artistry, we got amused. I don't know how other cravers experienced the food and will in future, but that night we enjoyed. From my perspective  Cream of Chicken Soup can be rated as 9, Red Snapper as  8, Sea Food Platter as 9, Shrimp Cashew Nut Salad as 9, Milk Tea as 9 and Rong Cha as 8 out of 10.

By the way food can taste different as cookery doesn't stays 100% same all the time. But, the hospitality with attentive behavior is important. The young guy who was serving us was really focused and I should say well trained and well mannered. Thank You for your service ( Sorry for forgetting to ask your name).
