Grand Prince Thai & Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Dhaka Metropolitan

On the 27th of April, 2023, we dined at this restaurant which had nice decor, but unfortunately was quite crowded when we arrived at around 9 pm. Additionally, there was a kids' playground nearby, causing consistent noise that might be bothersome for those seeking a quiet dinner.

Unfortunately, the service wasn't good, and we had to wait a long time for our food. It's possible that a party was taking place, and the staff was under pressure, leaving little time for other customers. However, if this was the case, it raises the question of why they would continue with side service while already stretched thin.

After waiting for approximately an hour, we received our food. Although we had no complaints about the food, we were disappointed with the soup, which tasted like drinking water with a hint of Thai soup flavor. The restaurant needs to improve the quality of the soup.

One thing we noticed was that the food menu items were mainly designed for three people. As we were a group of four people, it wasn't enough for us. When we asked the waiter if they could prepare a dish for four people, he said, "You have to order the item again, Sir." We found this to be unfair.

For instance, the mixed fried rice cost 360 Taka for three people, so to serve four people, we would need to order the dish again, making it a total of 360 + 360 = 720 Taka. It was very disappointing, but we had no other choice but to order two fried rice dishes.

Furthermore, when it came to ordering fried chicken, we were informed that they only had options for six pieces or twelve pieces - nothing in between. This showed that they were prioritizing business over customer satisfaction. The restaurant should reconsider its menu, as we saw many families of four people facing similar...

It was horrible, a restaurant can not be like this. I went there at around 9:45pm to 10pm with 4 of my family members (total 5 pax). There were a party going on at some other part of the restaurant. They had staff shortage. But we ourselves were arranging and deciding which table we should sit. We were asking passing by staff if/ whether they can make any arrangement of sitting for us? Three of them showed us at a distance table. I had three kids with me and my niece. We found ourselves as unwanted guest and left unattended. Yes, due to (staff shortage) staff were moving around but is this what you want us to get experienced? Now the worst part are yet to come - We called one staff to clear the table. The table got cleared but not all dirt. No set up were given. #Again we called another staff to take our order. The server alone handling many tables and was seriously busy. At the same time my kids and us were too much hungry. This gentleman gave us a 340 voltage shock. He took the order and wished us to wait 1 (one hour) for the ordered food! We asked him "why is that?" He replied - they are short of kitchen Staff & there is a party going on. So, most of them were concentrating on the party. It wasn’t fault of the server but management should allow that mauch guest and maintain the waiting register as much they could serve only based on the situation. It's a Chinese and Thai food restaurant. There is a place for playing for the kids in this restaurant. The place is really well decorated. I personally ordered their prawn fried rice and chicken vegetable. Then surprisingly i came to know that the amount of food they serve is always for two three people. So alone i could not finish these dishes. I had to take home the leftovers as parcels. So going there in a group is strongly suggested. Also I liked their food. It tasted really good.
