Review of The Mahal Restaurant, Rajshahi
Nestled in the heart of Rajshahi, The Mahal Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that merges traditional Bangladeshi flavors with contemporary dining aesthetics. My recent visit to this establishment left me thoroughly impressed, and I am eager to share my experience.
Ambiance: Upon entering The Mahal, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior design strikes a balance between elegance and comfort, featuring tasteful decor that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh. Soft lighting and comfortable seating arrangements make it an ideal spot for both family gatherings and intimate dinners.
Service: The service at The Mahal was exceptional. The staff was courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, readily offering recommendations based on our preferences. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived within a reasonable timeframe, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely meal without feeling rushed.
Food: The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. The Mahal offers a diverse menu that caters to various palates. I opted for a mix of traditional Bengali dishes and some of their signature creations.
We began with their Chicken Bhuna, which was a flavorful delight; the chicken was tender, and the spices were well-balanced. For the main course, the Bengali Fish Curry was a standoutâmade with fresh local fish and cooked to perfection, it had just the right amount of heat and an aromatic gravy that paired beautifully with the steamed rice.
The vegetarian options shouldn't be overlooked either. The Mixed Vegetable Bhaji was fresh and aromatic, showcasing the region's seasonal produce. For dessert, I couldnât resist trying the Rosogolla and was pleased to find it soft and syrupy, a perfect ending to a hearty meal.
Pricing: The pricing at The Mahal is reasonable considering the quality of the food and the overall experience. It strikes a good balance, making it accessible for both casual diners and those looking to celebrate a special occasion.
Conclusion: Overall, The Mahal Restaurant in Rajshahi is a gem worthy of a visit. Its beautiful ambiance, attentive service, and delicious food make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Bengali cuisine while enjoying a lovely dining experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Mahal is certainly a must-try that will leave a lasting impression. I look forward to returning and exploring more of what their menu...
Read moreIt might happen that my opinion has small value as it's already a renowned and nicely positioned restaurant in Rajshahi.
We went there without booking for having our iftar, as most of the customers of them already had pre reservation, so we had a little chance of getting a seat and meal also... There at first we were really confused that why only 1 platter with grill type chicken was the highest priced among platters but after their manager had to clear that it was a duo platter which wasn't mentioned in menu card. Then the manager/owner convinced us about that duo matter. Another matter catched my eye that for the helping waitresses there wasn't any place to have iftar, they had to complete their iftar infront of receiption table, standing by which was a matter of shme that felt really bad for them as securities wasn't a matter also. and from my point of view that their managing person had taken care of the training of bringing an Order but not humblism. some of them have to work on building generous attitude and fast working which can melt the customers heart before the meal.
We had chicken with naan platter which caused 400/-, it looked really over priced to me. I think it would good if the rate was placed 300/- or around that. They provided 2 naan , 1 tandoori chicken and 2 pieces of chicken regarding in curry. It's our bad that we asked extra naan from one of the waitress in time of taking our review as we liked the taste of butter naan and meyonise and they refused đ . They added 2 mini glass of rooh afza with the platter but provided a 500mL water exclusive from platter and also charged 15/- extra, which made me feel kinda uneasy in time of payment as customer we should be acknowledged before, isn't it?
Other than us all most of the customers from pre booking weren't that much pleased that time after having meal with the quality or the quantity from rice platters, may their prepared meals malfunctioned due to preparing early or something but their owner was trying to convince one group of pre booked customers giving another meal or some kind of discount.
At last, we are happy to have a chance of having our iftar there, hope their quantity of naan and other meals will be increased and generiousim will also be enriched as we expect from a restaurant which isn't like a benglai hotel, everyone has to...
Read moreI recently dined at The Mahal and, unfortunately, it was an experience I won't forget for all the wrong reasons. Upon entering, the first thing that struck me was the state of the interior. The ambiance felt tired and neglected, with peeling paint and outdated decor. However, the real shock came when I decided to order a rice dish.
When my food arrived, I was horrified to find that the rice was old and had an unpleasant odor, indicating it was past its prime. It was unappetizing and clearly not prepared with care. I mentioned this to the staff.
To add to my disappointment, the washroom was in a shocking state. It was filthy, with broken fixtures and a strong odor that made it clear cleanliness was not a priority. It left a lasting impression that detracted from any potential enjoyment of my meal.
Overall, my visit to The Mahal was a letdown. The combination of poor food quality and neglectful hygiene left me questioning their standards. I cannot recommend this restaurant and would advise others to seek dining options elsewhere until they address these...
