Additional comment to my review – in response to the manager’s message:

I would like to provide some clarifications for better understanding. The incident happened today around 2:00 PM at an outdoor table – the third or fourth table in a row from the wall, facing the neighboring establishment. There were just two of us.

The waiter who served us was slightly heavyset, with dark, wavy hair and light-colored eyes. He was the one who behaved rudely and humiliatingly, as I already mentioned.

It’s important to note that I’m a regular customer and have always had positive experiences until now. One of your waiters, whom I know from previous visits, has always been extremely polite and professional. For clarity – he was not working today and has no connection to what happened.

This situation deeply disappointed me, especially considering my good experience with your restaurant so far.

Terrible, targeted behavior — only towards us. We were ignored, had to call the waiter over multiple times, and when he finally came, he slammed the drinks on the table and acted with clear racist undertones. There was a hair in the olives, and when I asked to pay by card, he tore the receipt, crumpled it, and threw it into the ashtray in front of me. Completely unacceptable. I’m never coming back. Visited last Thursday for lunch. We were a party of 4. Friendly service with that little extra that makes the difference: cloth napkins, matching plates, an easy-on-the-eyes interior, ... We shared the calamari, salmon, carpaccio, and abonidgas en mix with bruschetta.

The salmon was good, as were the abondigas and bruschetta. Not a major taste explosion. Calamari was good and fresh, but made with the small part of the squid, not the easy-to-bite calamari you usually get. Carpaccio was amazing. Especially the added herb mix (sort of chimichurri) was very refreshing and yummy.

Wegens medische redenen hebben we met oudejaarsavond helaas moeten annuleren. Na uiteindelijk 3 weken achter elkaar naar de zaak te gaan om dit persoonlijk te melden en ons geld terug te vragen kregen we uiteindelijk niet alles terug betaald en werd er een administratieve kost aangerekend van 10 euro voor het annuleren en het terug betalen van ons geld dat we al op voorhand hadden betaald. In november hadden we dit voor de eerste keer al persoonlijk laten weten dat we niet konden komen en uiteindelijk hebben we vandaag maar pas ons geld terug gestort gekregen. 2x werd dit gemeld aan een personeelslid die zei dat hij dit ging melden aan de zaakvoerders en de derde keer uiteindelijk aan de zaakvoerders zelf.
