We stayed in this hotel this week, and having stayed in it a number of times before and it has been good, this time was far from acceptable. ||For starters when we checked in the gentleman that is now running it is rather miserable, and not overly welcoming.||Secondly, we were checking in with luggage and our two small dogs that have been here a nr of times before. They have only certain rooms available for people with dogs, and these are on the ground floor either side of the restaurant which is perfect. Except now this manager won’t allow you to walk through the restaurant to get to your room when it is open, with your bags or the dogs. So we had to lug our bags and both dogs up a flight of stairs walk over the landing upstairs and lug everything down again the other side. This was never this way before. ||Thirdly that evening sadly we decided to eat in the restaurant. The service was exceptionally slow, I will say the soup was very good, but the main course was awful!!!||I had duck which was tougher than old boot leather, and my husband had sole and it made him ill the next day. ||The following evening the restaurant only had two people in it, and they weren’t even eating at the time and again I was unable to walk quietly through with our two sausage dogs. If dogs are such a problem why allow them in the hotel at all? They are happy to take the extra charge for them. Maybe they need to realise that it’s their food that is turning people of the restaurant not guests walking through it. ||The first morning we were there, house keeping left us with no towels, and the rooms are very inconsistent with the heat, each night in the middle of the night the room felt very hot, and with the window open it was exceptionally noisy from the road and gravel parking lot. ||We checked out a day early as neither of us wish to stay any longer, and the manager tried to charge us for the night we weren’t staying, never have we had this happen before. Normally the hotel can always rent it out to someone else. It’s not like we hadn’t turned up we were leaving due to the fact we were having such...
Read moreWe needed a hotel for one night in this area and choose hotel In den Bonten Os.||Reservation per internet worked fine and a question was answered within a few hours by email.||The hotel is located on a main road, but in a quiet residential area with lots of forest around. Enough parking space for our car.||Check-in went rapid and professional, but not extremely inviting.||The hotel seems recently renovated. Our room was located on the ground floor and had direct access to a small terrace (in February without furniture). The room was spacious, clean, had a separate toilet and a separate bathroom with shower in the bathtub, bathrobe, slippers, extra pillow and blanket provided for 1 person, 2 single beds pushed together, good working heating, no airco. Our room was also recently renovated in a modern decor, but a bit dull to our taste.||A weird detail of the room : there is a small door opening from the corridor into the cupboard (to bring roomservice without disturbing the guests?), but the opening seems big enough to let a small person enter the room without using a key. As very little rooms were occupied during our stay and no receptionist is on duty during the night, we decided put a chair in front of the cupboard to avoid uninvited guests to climb into our room.||Breakfast, included in the price, was nice, fresh and had a good choice of bread, pastry, cheese, ham, sweet items, fruit juice, fresh and dried fruits, yoghurt, etc.||All in all, our room and breakfast were worth the price and we would recommend this hotel for a short stay. We would not choose it for a holiday as we felt the entire...
