I was alone, so I chose a table for two in the sun rather than a table of four in the shade. There were still some glasses and an ice cream coupe from the previous guests on the table. I ordered a beer from tap, but it took more than half an hour. After 10 minutes, I told one of her collegues that I had ordered a beer. The glasses were still on the table. After a while, the waitress came to collect them and looked at me without saying anything, even though I ordered the beer twenty minutes ago. After 30 minutes she came to ask if I wanted anything and I reordered the beer (it was more than 25°C so I was very thirtsty). When I wanted to order for dinner, it took me more than twenty minutes to get the attention of the waitress (even though it was not very crowded). I had to pay for the beer first and she added the ticket from the previous guests (more than double what I had to pay). I had ordered a new beer as well, which was quickly served, but the used glass was not taken away. The vol au vent was decent, but nothing special. The waitress ended the transaction with nothing more than "voila" even though I did my very best to speak...
Read moreWe can't really give a rating for food as we didn't actually get any, or the drinks we ordered. We had booked a table for my birthday celebration, and were really looking forward to it, having had a drink earlier in the week. Admittedly we were late for our reservation due to racing at the chimay circuit, but I'd kept in touch with the restaurant to let them know. Initially the waiter seemed friendly enough, came took our order for drinks, then we waited and waited and waited. Other people arrived, their orders were taken and drinks bought to their table. We did ask a couple of times if our food order could be taken, to be met with rolling eyes and being told he would be back shortly. After waiting almost half an hour my husband went into the restaurant to ask where are drinks were and could they take our food order. He was met with such rudeness. He said to the waiter 'you really don't care do you?' To which the waiter replied 'no'!! We left with no drinks or food and went to the place next door where the food wasn't great, but at least the service was...
