My husband and I were staying in Grimbergen for the recent dedication of a WWII memorial plaque at the airfield. Exhausted one evening, we decided to find somewhere to eat but of course we did not have reservations. We followed the gps down this narrow path, met some cows munching in the sudden downpour and finally located the restaurant. We had thought patio but the weather! The manager offered us a table as long as we could be finished by 7 pm. Hungry as we were I didn’t think that would be a problem. The servers were very helpful with the menu since we don’t speak Dutch and soon we were enjoying our meals. Trout almandine for me and seafood stew (not sure the exact name) for him. Beautiful location with an old mill (and, unfortunately, we did't have the chance to come for lunch: the outdoor should be wonderful). We had an amazing lunch at Tommenmolen. The mussels were fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked — served with a tasty broth and mashed potatoes on the side.
