MZE — Restaurant in Herentals

Chosen for it's close proximity to our hotel, this restaurant was a lucky find. Nicely busy but accommodating I found the atmosphere warm. We lucked into accomodations, but I recommend reserving. We chose tzatziki, bread, beet salad and mousaka, with cake and ice cream for dessert. I loved the salad and would eat it daily if I could. The tzatziki and bread was great. Everything else I thought was okay, not exceptional, but I'm probably not the best judge of those foods. The staff was excellent and took time to explain and assist us in English. Dissapointing experience and wouldn't reccomend! Quantity & quality vs price don't match. We ordered few dishes to share, but didn't arrive in order and timing between it all arrived was extremely long. Some meals were wrongly placed on our table, and been removed. Weird! Portion size was, politely said, extremely diassapointing! On menu for lamb it is mentioned 200g portion, while we literally received 4 micro bites. Was probably 200g with place included ... LOL After politely commenting to waiter, he barely 'apologized' and didn't care. Later on ignored us on a table, until...

Very friendly reception in a nice setting. When we just entered the smell in the heated terrace area wasn't very pleasing but that changed pretty soon when more people (and more food) came in. The food itself was great. They recommend 3 dishes each but we had enough with 2 and then split a(n awesome) dessert. It's not the cheapest, but very much worth it. I am definitely coming back here.
