Ernest Restaurant — Restaurant in La Hulpe

My wife chose this restaurant based on the good reviews here and the fact that it has a small playground right next to the tables, to keep the kids busy. The latter proved to be the only good thing about it. For drinks I ordered a "Virgin on the beach" expecting a big cocktail which, according to the menu, should contain orange juice and grenadine. As is evident in the photo, it contained none of those. My wife ordered a glass of Cointreau and got some transparent liquid which tasted like anything but. We ordered the Ernest burgers, two of us. One was ok, the other was raw minced meat as you can see in the other photo. Nobody asked us if we wanted our burgers raw or well done. Initially they brought us some plates which we were not sure if they were ours. 10 minutes later and after we had tasted some parts, a waitress came, realized they had made a mistake and just took the plates away to another table! When we got the bill, we had to ask them explicitly to remove the raw burger from the bill (which they did). Maybe it was a bad day, or maybe it's affected by COVID-19, but we won't go again...

Nice restaurant with a beautiful terrace and an awesome playground for kids. The place has been created with the children's pleasure in mind. Playground, table sets with games and drawings; everything is done to make the moment enjoyable for the kids and for their parents. The menu offers a range of tasty dishes. The service (waiters) isn't their strongest asset; we had to wait pretty long to be served and both my beverage and dish were completely forgotten by the waiter. Nous sommes venues un vendredi soir manger avec nos filles . Au moment de payer l’addition nous remarquons que c’est cher mais nous payons sans regarder la note car nous faisons confiance à l’établissement et nous partons sans le ticket car nous l’oublions . Le lendemain en y repensant on se rend compte qu’il y a eu un soucis dans l’addiction, on nous a facturé 60€ de trop ce qui n’est pas rien vu le prix des plats, boissons,.. Sur ce j’appelle le restaurant ils me disent de venir le soir même . Je me re déplace le soir pour arranger le souci et nous nous installons en attendant une des serveuses , nous reprenons un verre. De la on nous dit que ce n’est pas possible d’avoir un remboursement ni rien d’autre, car pas de ticket pas de remboursement et que le patron est en vacances et pas joignable et que de toute manière ils ne savent rien faire et que le patron non plus même s’il était là . Je passe la manière dont on nous parle , sans aucun tact et d’une condescendance pas possible , ce qui était déjà le cas la veille avec une serveuse pas du tout aimable .

La moindre des choses aurait été de faire un geste commercial ou au minimum nous offrir les verres que nous avons prit en attendant la serveuse .

En tant normal je n’écris pas de commentaires mais vu la façon dont on s’est fait traiter c’est inadmissible surtout pour ce genre...
