Vecino — Restaurant in Middelkerke

This is a very cosy stylish restaurant which was recommended by a friend. We came as a group of 7 and I have to say the food was perfect and reasonably priced too. I would say this is a traditional belgian Tapas restaurant with a modern stylish twist to it as well. The decor of the restaurant is extraordinary as well as the mellow tones. It is also dog friendly so we were able to bring our dog with us to eat. I would recommend the sharing tapas for 7plus people which gives you surprise tapas which they pick at random. Another good thing is they took my dietary requirements into consideration and chose tapas which were applicable to me which is a rare sight in many foreign countries.

Given that this has been a drive it has been worth it and I will definitely be coming back when we return to belgium. Would recommend to...

I must be honest I was positively surprised. We were looking for somewhere to eat, and we ended up finding this place that was close to our hotel. To be honest, from the experience I had in the past, “tapas are only good in Spain”. However, the food here was just beautiful and delicious. Special highlight to the sealed tuna and the Brie and Jamon, they were simply delicious. Ik heb onlangs een bezoek gebracht aan Vecino en het was absoluut vreselijk. We hebben maar liefst 1 uur en 30 minuten in het restaurant gezeten voor slechts twee tapasgerechtjes en één drankje. Het begon al slecht: we moesten 15 minuten wachten voordat we überhaupt iets konden bestellen. Toen ons drinken eindelijk kwam, hebben we meteen twee tapas gerechtjes gekozen.

Na 45 minuten wachten op het eerste tapa gerecht, vroegen we ons al af waar het tweede gerecht bleef. Na opnieuw 15 minuten wachten hebben we gevraagd waar het andere gerecht bleef. Tegen de tijd dat we weer vroegen, was het bijna 10 minuten later en uiteindelijk kwam het dan eindelijk aan, maar niet zonder een extra 5 minuten te wachten.

Toen we dat eindelijk binnenkregen, vroegen we meteen om de rekening en zijn we naar een ander restaurant gegaan. Opmerkelijk genoeg waren ze razendsnel met het brengen van de rekening, maar de service voor het eten was ronduit slecht. En dat terwijl het eten ook nog eens lauw was, ondanks het warme zomerweer.

Als je veel tijd hebt en 4 uur wilt tafelen, zou dit misschien een oplossing zijn, maar als gast vind ik het schandalig om een half uur te moeten wachten tot je drinken komt. Dit restaurant biedt zeker geen meerwaarde en ik kan het absoluut niet aanbevelen. Het was een grote...
