We had previously visited in a larger group and had taken a set menu and really enjoyed this restaurant. This time we went to celebrate a birthday. It is six months later than last visit, it was like night and day from before. We took 3 vegetarian starters and one with lamb. The lamb starter was fine but the vegetarian were not so good. The beetroot dish was very vinergary, the salad tasted highly of garlic. The last time these dished they were much better tasting no idea why so different disappointing. There is no vegetarian main section listed on the menu, I do not eat meat or fish so I tried to order a different vegetarian starter as a main, only to be asked "did not eat fish or meat?" I replied no and I was immediately told I could not have what I wanted as a main because it was "too small". No suggestion made of how it could be turned into a main dish by maybe adding a salad or another dish. I pointed out there was no indication of what was possible to have as main, the owner recommended a vegtable dish and added people take it with other dishes but did not say I could have what had actually wanted with it. My husand suggested some kind of cheese pasteies. So I agreed. My main courses arrived some minutes before the meat or fish courses came out. By the time they came and I had waited for them so we could all eat together it was quite cold. The vegtable dish he had recommended was horrendous, over seasoned and tasted incredibly burnt in many parts. The cheese pastries were OK but quite cold by now. The seabass my husband had was very oily and over powered by garlic, the lamb ribs my son took also overly seasoned with garlic. The owner was sat on his laptop atvthe back.on a face to face call for much of the time whilst we were there, he seemed to be studiously ignoring the half dozen diners in his restaurant. When he took the plates he did not ask if the food was satisfactory. He asked if we wanted dessert we said no thank you and asked for the bill please, he said of course. He then went to sit back on his lap top for ten to fifteen minutes and continued to ignore us. He then got up proceeded to ask other people at the next table if there food was OK, give another table their bill then immediately take payment from them and even after we reminded him we wanted to pay he put down a quickly bill walked away and took payment from another table behind us before finally returning to us. As we left I was feeling pretty irritated by the evening so I told him the vegtable dish was unpleasant and burnt. His response was not that he was sorry to hear this, but rather that I should "order something else next time". I should have said that I tried too, but instead I responded "there will not be a next time!" I pointed out we had to wait over 20 minutes to simply pay to leave and he had first taken payment from two others tables who asked after us. The place was almost desserted at 7.30 on a Saturday, which had surprised us on arrival because last time it had been quite a nice meal but not after the evening was over if the experience varies so much. This is not what you expect when you spend over 60€ per person on a meal. This time this place was simply over priced for quality of food or...
Read moreI love the Lebanese cuisine, this place however disappointed me. Me and the other guest were not too hungry and did not want to order much, but the gentleman working there (probably the owner) was very pushy. And at the end he put 10 EUR more on the payment terminal than the invoice was. The food quality is average, but the prices are extremely high. You can have better quality food in the very center of Brussels for a batter price. I won't go to this...
