Yotaya — Restaurant in Overijse

Our experience at Yotaya was very disappointing. Normally we go to another Thai restaurant but we wanted to try a new place. The waiter received us in a very unfriendly way. Then every time we tried to order something, he looked very annoyed by the fact that we were trying to order in Dutch or English. We had no problem trying to speak French (we know enough to get by) but he was not accommodating and not friendly at all. We ordered in Dutch because we didn’t know he only spoke French. That was fine but he didn’t have to be so rude. Then when we ordered an appetizer, which we were going to share, he made a remark because we were only getting one and not two. The food was okey, nothing outstanding but good enough. If it wasn’t for the service I think we would have given 3 stars. Also we didn’t like the fact that they give Sriracha when we requested something spicy. Normally in a Thai place they give chilly flakes. The problem with Sriracha is that it overpowers the flavours. One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever visited!!

You would not guess from the unassuming exterior but this restaurant, just a few minutes south from Brussels, offers excellent Thai menus with impeccable and very friendly service with a smile... Highly recommended. They also offer takeaway but why miss the enjoyment of eating in this friendly place?!

Très beau restaurant thaïlandais, tous les ingrédients sont frais et cela se sent au goût. L’accueil et l’ambiance sur place sont charmants, il y règne une atmosphère sereine et agréable pour un repas. Le décors raffiné et authentique, l’atmosphère paisible de la salle, la propreté des lieux, la saveur et la fraîcheur des plats et le professionnalisme parfaitement dosé de la serveuse sur place en font une des meilleurs adresses thaï dans la périphérie de Bruxelles.
