Le Mounier restaurant — Restaurant in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert - Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe

Bit of a letdown. I was upset when we encountered sub-par service. The waitress spilled our drinks on the table, luckily not on us, which happens we didn't mind. Then when we completed our orders she scolded us that we should decide if we talk to her in French or English, because it is very busy and she needs clear orders. We are an international group so such attitude was a surprise for us, considering that we eat there regularly. Nearly every month there is a some kind of company team get-together. Then she didn't count the drinks properly when she replaced them. This was the moment I felt it was too much. A fellow waiter took over and was very nice in serving our table. Lots of things are understood: busy night, the week of Christmas etc. But scolding your international clients about their language is not the way to go. This has never happened to me before in Brussels. Seeing other reviews, seems to me that they aren't really interested in improving their quality of service. Service staff thinks they are way smarter than the customers! Ordered a coffee and a packet of chips, together with 2 glasses of water. I didnt say 2 bottles of water, nor 2 glasses if still water, just 2 glasses of water...Total bill 8€!! Why do I ask? Well because the smart-mouth waiter tells me I ordered 2 glasses of still water, which means 2 bottles!! Really??? When did "glasses" and "bottles" mean the same thing??? The other waitress than told me that it is absolutely forbidden to serve tap water in any restaurant in Belgium!!! Wow!! The water must be so polluted in this country, worse than in China!!! Two waiters who think they know it all, rude and honestly I would have liked to smack them on their smart mouths!!! Next time tell your customers that you dont serve tap water and ask them if they would like a bottle!!!...

I love this small cafe nestled in a top quiet place just adjacent to Mounir sportif. My kids go for their sports classes and I head to this cafe with a book and coffee to be by myself for next one hour. Very hospitable service (I am an Indian Expat) and the lady at the counter is very courteous. I will highly recommend to visit this cafe during the day.
