This restaurant can do better. The fried empanadas were more dough than anything else. I rather be charged more for an empanada that is edible and which I’ll enjoy. The beef milanesa was paper thin beef. Again, I rather be charged more but be served a decent portion of meat. We asked for a cesar salad at the end of our meal and waited about 30 minutes. When we enquired about our salad we were told they haven’t even started it. Therefore we cancelled. The drinks were good however when the bill came, we were being charged 10$ more for a drink. The menu had 15$ and the bill had 25$. When we asked, the waitress said there is nothing she can do since it is what the system has. In a business you cannot market an item for a price and then charge almost double that price. That is called stealing. The music was good when we arrived but the volume was turned up later and it was so uncomfortable. The ambient is good (if the music is not turned up to uncomfortable decibels) but they need to work on their food and have the correct pricing on their menus. They also need at least one more person to help. I have had food in Argentinian restaurants and food made by Argentinian friends. The food I had last night was not what I expected. Today, everyone who had dinner at coco gardens last night has an upset stomach (vomiting). Maybe it was the oil in which the...
Read moreWent here for lunch. They have adequate parking and the layout of the place was nice and open. I do like the care that has been given to keep the grounds clean. The seating was interesting and I liked that as well. Now let's talk food... I was looking forward to trying the food here. Ordering was fine, no problem there. But when the food arrived I was somewhat disappointed. I ordered the spinach and cheese empanadas. What I received was 2 spinach and cheese and 1 ham and cheese empanadas. Once the waitress returned I asked her why my empanadas were mixed. She stated that they had run out of the spinach and cheese. I wasn't told ahead of time and that bothered me. I don't eat pork. I was surprised by the kid burgers size. It looked like a regular size burger for an adult. My daughter was happy with the burger and the fries. The pork chop I was told didn't have any flavor other than the sauce it was bathed in. The tacos were ok. The in consistency with the tacos tortillas was weird as well. Some were corn and...

Every time I’m in Belize, Coco Gardens is an absolute must on my to-do list. The food is consistently amazing—I’ve never had a bad meal here! Some of my favorites include the nachos, empanadas, asado, burrito bowl, any of their salads, and of course, the steak. Honestly, everything I’ve tried has been delicious and made with great quality.
The drinks are just as impressive—do yourself a favor and try the margarita on the rocks or a michelada. You won’t be disappointed.
What really sets Coco Gardens apart, though, is the service. The team is incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They make you feel right at home, which is something I truly appreciate. Hands down, some of the best service I’ve ever received in Belize.
If you’re visiting Belize, add Coco Gardens to your list—you simply cannot leave without experiencing it....
