Visited and at first was excited. Waited 40mins for the chef to prepare what was called Teppanyaki. The Spanish chef walked in and out of the VIP room numerous times before eventually commencing service, then he only spoke Spanish not Japanese or any other language. We had to use a waiter to translate, which he was happy to do but we were very surprised by the lack of preparation. When the chef eventually worked out what 3 of us wanted he cooked up the rice bowls for starters with tiny cubes of beef, it was honestly very very dry and tasteless. By now 70 mins had passed. The main courses we requested was cooked at a basic level of stir-fry. The chef used a tiny bit of flair in his cooking but it definitely was not a Japanese type experience, rather a very basic stir fry without much taste to comment on. Very disappointed again. So for 3 people: 3 basic bowls of rice, 3 standard mains of stir fry, 6 natural juices and 3 Jack Daniel’s with Coke cost us in the region of BZ$500.00 So yes, the one waiter was attentive and tried his best, the chef was average at best and his food was very very basic. The experience was not one at all. We were all excited to be there until the we waited 40 or more mins for the chef to even begin and the restaurant was completely empty. We were even talking about bringing 12 USA clients to eat there at first but after this ‘experience’ we definitely shall not. Nice idea! Very poor execution. Place looks nice inside! Waiters are disorganised,...
Read moreThis was my first time going to Five Fusion and I was not overly impressed. I took a group of clients here, because I was told it was great, but it wasn't what I expected. The atmosphere was okay, but a little too night clubby for my taste. We got the salmon carpaccio, tuna tartar and ceviche, which were all pretty good. I got the Ossobuca as my main course and it was very good. However, the waitress seemed either really busy (we were the only table), or she just had other things to do. Every time we tried to order something, she said it it wasn't available, or it was the last one left, which included wine and mixed drinks. The entire team had to end up ordering something that they didn't actually want, aside from those that ordered the Ossobuca. There were no shortages on that. The drinks were hit or miss. The espresso martini was a miss and the old fashioneds were awful. I've never had an old fashioned that tasted like someone put a spoonful of sugar in it. Anway, we got there at 6:30 and didn't leave until 9:30, because the service took so long. For the insane prices this place charges, I would expect a lot more. The only thing that kept me from rating this a 2 star was the Ossobuca. It was worth every penny. Unless I have more clients that ask specifically to go to Five Fusion, I will not be back. I can spend way less money on a better experience...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant. Updating my review. Had a very interesting interaction last time I was there. My party of 5 black west indians were asked what music would we like to hear and requested some lovers rock reggae - it was really nice that the request was allowed and we were vibing. About 10-12 minutes later a caucasian couple came up the stairs and the music immediately was turned off. Like as soon as they enter the doors it's cut off nothing plays. I asked the waitress why did this happen and she said that it's a fine dining experience and the reggae music was not appropriate. But it was appropriate for 10-12 minutes before. She said that she was told that other clients may not like it. I asked if any other clients complained and she said no. I'm definitely not going to return, because the reason given is...
