We absolutely loved our stay at the Parrot Nest Lodge! First we stayed for 3 nights in the treehouse, after which we extended our stay for another 3 nights in a garden cabin. Both were clean, spacious and had amazing jungle surroundings. The plants, trees and flowers are simply beautiful and we spotted various types of birds (owls, toecans, hawks). Theo and Marcus, the owners, are wonderful people who will do everything to make you feel at home. There is a great common space, with coffee/tea/purified water and several hammocks and comfortable chairs. At night you have the possibility to join for very good home cooked meals. The cuddly animals (3 cats and 2 dogs: Holly and Lulu) are also very sweet. In addition you have the river at your doorstep, and they provide tubes for free to go and enjoy tubing on the river. The lodge is a little bit outside of San Ignacio, but the (collective) taxis are easy to take and the quiet surroundings are worth it. Thank you Theo and Marcus!

It's not typical to charge tax on top of an airbnb. Everywhere we have stayed in Belize the tax was always included in the online reservation, airbnb or otherwise. Considering the tax the value isn't really there especially since airbnb charges it's own fees. Hidden charges are not cool! Okay rant done. All said, it is a unique experience to wake up to the sounds of the jungle from a jungle tree house. Looking up at the stars at night from the patch near the river was also majestic, can't see so many stars back in North America. Complimentary tubing down the mopan River was nice and relaxing. Hosts were nice, and the food was delicious albeit pricey compared to food in San Ignacio.

The rooms were clean, cozy, came with fresh towels, hot water & 2 bars of soap. Each cabin had it's own space not overcrowding the space connected by trails in the jungle. The sounds of the Jungle were peaceful with an awesome biodiversity in both plants & animals. Enjoy a float around the peninsula keeping cool on a hot day. Grab a bite to eat from a local cook, the bakery up the road or a quick run into San Ignacio and check out the market. Drinks are available in the common area's fridge just mark it on your rooms tag. Everything is easy & no price gouging. You won't be disappointed in your stay here with a great relaxed vibe & communal spaces.

This is a must stay hidden gem. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were in heaven. Theo and Marcus are the sweetest hosts....and she is the best cook!||It is located 5 min from San Ignacio in Bullet tree falls. Its easiest if you have a car, otherwise you will have to take a taxi from San Ignacio. It is hidden away in the jungle on the Mopan River. Its so calming and relaxing from the minute you drive down the laneway. ||It is made up of a small main building with several chairs and tables, as well as hammocks. Then there are several small huts spread out over the jungle. We were in hut 6. It had a queen bed and 2 singles which was perfect for our family of 4. It had a huge deck, with hammock...it is also one of only 2 huts that has a bathroom attached...the others have a shared shower and bathroom. It was the perfect size, beds were comfy as were the pillows. There is no AC so if that is something that is must for you, don't stay here. There are 2 large fans in the room and it was more than adequate for us. The evenings cool off and it is lovely. ||Theo is amazing at helping you decide where to go and she has maps you can borrow. There is also wifi in the main little building. They offer coffee and tea as well as games. You can stay for meals as well....and she is an amazing cook. Everything is fresh that day from the market. ||The provide tubes to float down the Mopan river for free. I suggest walking to the bridge and going in there. There is a fun little rapid to go through...just stay to the right! Its so beautiful and the Belizean folks all hang out there on the weekends and are sooooo friendly. ||There is wildlife, specifically howler monkeys and "jungle rabbits". I saw my first scorpion too. They also have 2 dogs and 3 cats. We never noticed any bugs....until 2 days later. You don't even feel them biting you until several days later you have welts all over your legs.....so even if you don't see them or feel them....wear bug spray. ||From here we did the ATM tour, Xunantunich, Rio Frio Cave, and Rio ON Pools. We had our own car so we did them all on our own except ATM. Rio Frio and Rio ON is free and easy to find with Theos map. ||I loved it here and didn't want to leave. If you are going to San Ignacio you need to...

Our stay at this accommodation was a deeply disappointing way to start our vacation, primarily due to misleading information about what we were booking. While the hosts were kind, there were several critical issues that made our experience incredibly frustrating.||||The cabins were dark and damp, and the humidity made it impossible for clothes to dry. Adding to the discomfort, the property is set back from a muddy, wet road with no proper pathway, making it difficult to walk anywhere without trudging through mud. A simple solution like a designated path or wood chips would have significantly improved accessibility and comfort.||||However, the biggest issue was the unbearable noise. Nowhere in the listing was it disclosed that a bar sits directly across the small river, blasting club music throughout the day and night. The vibrations from the bass carried straight into our cabin, making it impossible to relax or enjoy the peaceful 'jungle' atmosphere we had specifically booked this place for. To make matters worse, a church next to the bar holds services where the pastor screams into a microphone for hours on weekends. Between the relentless music and the amplified sermons, we had no escape. I spent several nights in tears, feeling trapped in a dark, wet cabin with no reprieve from the noise.||||Adding to the frustration, WiFi was advertised in the listing, but in reality, it was only accessible in the common area—not in the cabins. ||||This is vital information that should have been disclosed upfront. Had we known, we would have never booked. While the owners were pleasant, the lack of transparency left us feeling deceived and utterly disheartened. Future guests deserve to make an informed decision about whether this is the right environment for them. Sadly, for...
