This is a must stay hidden gem. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were in heaven. Theo and Marcus are the sweetest hosts....and she is the best cook!||It is located 5 min from San Ignacio in Bullet tree falls. Its easiest if you have a car, otherwise you will have to take a taxi from San Ignacio. It is hidden away in the jungle on the Mopan River. Its so calming and relaxing from the minute you drive down the laneway. ||It is made up of a small main building with several chairs and tables, as well as hammocks. Then there are several small huts spread out over the jungle. We were in hut 6. It had a queen bed and 2 singles which was perfect for our family of 4. It had a huge deck, with hammock...it is also one of only 2 huts that has a bathroom attached...the others have a shared shower and bathroom. It was the perfect size, beds were comfy as were the pillows. There is no AC so if that is something that is must for you, don't stay here. There are 2 large fans in the room and it was more than adequate for us. The evenings cool off and it is lovely. ||Theo is amazing at helping you decide where to go and she has maps you can borrow. There is also wifi in the main little building. They offer coffee and tea as well as games. You can stay for meals as well....and she is an amazing cook. Everything is fresh that day from the market. ||The provide tubes to float down the Mopan river for free. I suggest walking to the bridge and going in there. There is a fun little rapid to go through...just stay to the right! Its so beautiful and the Belizean folks all hang out there on the weekends and are sooooo friendly. ||There is wildlife, specifically howler monkeys and "jungle rabbits". I saw my first scorpion too. They also have 2 dogs and 3 cats. We never noticed any bugs....until 2 days later. You don't even feel them biting you until several days later you have welts all over your legs.....so even if you don't see them or feel them....wear bug spray. ||From here we did the ATM tour, Xunantunich, Rio Frio Cave, and Rio ON Pools. We had our own car so we did them all on our own except ATM. Rio Frio and Rio ON is free and easy to find with Theos map. ||I loved it here and didn't want to leave. If you are going to San Ignacio you need to...
Read moreOur stay at this accommodation was a deeply disappointing way to start our vacation, primarily due to misleading information about what we were booking. While the hosts were kind, there were several critical issues that made our experience incredibly frustrating.||||The cabins were dark and damp, and the humidity made it impossible for clothes to dry. Adding to the discomfort, the property is set back from a muddy, wet road with no proper pathway, making it difficult to walk anywhere without trudging through mud. A simple solution like a designated path or wood chips would have significantly improved accessibility and comfort.||||However, the biggest issue was the unbearable noise. Nowhere in the listing was it disclosed that a bar sits directly across the small river, blasting club music throughout the day and night. The vibrations from the bass carried straight into our cabin, making it impossible to relax or enjoy the peaceful 'jungle' atmosphere we had specifically booked this place for. To make matters worse, a church next to the bar holds services where the pastor screams into a microphone for hours on weekends. Between the relentless music and the amplified sermons, we had no escape. I spent several nights in tears, feeling trapped in a dark, wet cabin with no reprieve from the noise.||||Adding to the frustration, WiFi was advertised in the listing, but in reality, it was only accessible in the common area—not in the cabins. ||||This is vital information that should have been disclosed upfront. Had we known, we would have never booked. While the owners were pleasant, the lack of transparency left us feeling deceived and utterly disheartened. Future guests deserve to make an informed decision about whether this is the right environment for them. Sadly, for...
