L'Imprévu — Restaurant in Cotonou

L'imprévu is a small oasis in the middle of an area of Cotonou that's not super nice. I would not walk around outside the small compound after dark. I live in Cotonou and have eaten here a few times. I've enjoyed everything I have ordered each time. I just stayed here overnight for the 1st time. The room is nice and simple. Bring your own pillow. There was only one bath towel and hand towel for 2 people which is not enough. They say text the WhatsApp when you need something but then they don't get back to you for a while. The breakfast is included but you have to go down to the restaurant and literally order it from a small menu and they didn't have half the stuff on the menu and brought what they wanted anyway. You can't order it to your room. Allegedly you are supposed to be able to order room service but I doubt they would have brought it up since we weren't allowed to have breakfast in our room. Great customer service right from booking the rooms from Lagos, Nigeria for a weekend getaway. Rooms are super clean with a cozy Café bistro downstairs and a beautiful garden sit out. We had a great day that begun with a sumptuous breakfast of bacon, sunny side up egg and baked beans served with tea and some juice. And we went for an Italian dinner, i must say i had the best lasagna ever! Nightlife was made easy with a discount card to use at their other bar in town, how cool is that? We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be staying there again on our next visit. The overall service was impeccable, i hereby highly recommend.
