Passing through Aracaju and attracted by the good reviews, I decided to book a table for two people: my wife and me.
The restaurant has a refined and welcoming style; the cuisine is contemporary in presentation, but rooted in tradition, demonstrating good gastronomic technique. The negative point is the service and customer service: TERRIBLE!
I chose an à la carte dish from the menu and my wife chose the Sergipano Origin Tasting Menu. This Sergipano Menu consists of: 1 Amuse Bouche, 1 Snack, 1 Starter, 1 main course (of your choice), 1 dessert and couvert (bread with butter)
After waiting 45 minutes, the first dish, the amuse bouche, arrived for my wife, but without the cutlery, which, after we asked for it, the waiter brought it in his hands, without any protection, demonstrating a lack of professionalism, care and hygiene. My wife started eating while I looked on hungrily, because up until that moment my plate had not arrived. Another half hour passed and then my wife's main course arrived. Another 10 minutes later, another main course arrived that didn't look like any of the ones I had been offered. When I tried it, I could tell that there were ingredients I didn't like. I concluded that the dishes had been switched: I had my wife's and vice versa. After that, an hour later, nothing else we ordered had arrived. My wife got up and went to ask for an explanation, but no one answered! They seemed deaf and mute.
To summarize, after 3 hours of sitting in a room with air conditioning set at 16 degrees, my wife's order, the Sergipe menu, was served incompletely, the dishes were switched, and it took a long time for each item to arrive. I got up and went to ask for the bill from a woman who seemed to be the manager, in a room wearing a mask. She nodded to me and said OK. I was sure that she had understood and returned to the table.
Another 20 minutes of waiting and the bill had not arrived. We went to complain and were even more irritated when the employee said that we had not asked for the bill. Despite all our complaints, they still charged us for a glass of water that we had not ordered.
To err is human, and it is necessary to acknowledge the error. Apologizing is necessary. The customer must be respected and good cuisine is not enough to create a high-quality...
Read moreFood was very nice, but portion sizes could be bigger (we had starter, main and dessert and left wanting more food). The main issue is with service, the staff are lovely but there seems to be little confusion on how restaurants work... we ordered a starter that came first, before drinks, then drinks, mine arrived and then my husband's came 15 minutes later (there were us and another couple at the restaurant) so I was left drinking alone and my husband eating a starter with no drink. The mains arrived together. Then we asked for dessert and coffee. Coffee arrived first, then after a wait, the dessert, so we had it with cold coffee. It's such simple, common sense things that would make the meal flow better, especially as this is not a...
